A good start to a new series

A good start to a new series, but hasn’t blown me away like the FBI – K9 series.
The story is predictable, and the characters are not as well rounded as in Jodi’s previous books, however they are still interesting and engaging; and the twists and turns by which the crime is solved are still good.
The main protagonist Katie is a bit immature and Colt, her love interest is sweet and gentlemanly, and Renegade, the K9, is the star of the show – then again what else would he be?

One thing I have enjoyed with all of Jodi’s books is that the characters of the next story are introduced by way of a relationship or involvement with the characters of the current book.

I liked the story, though it lacked the depth of the previous series, but am still looking forward to the next one and hope that Katie will have matured a bit more.

The narrator Joyce Oben was lovely to listen to and enhanced the experience.

I received this book in audio book format from the author and am leaving this review of my own volition.
