About this listen

The Gray Man's search for missing intelligence agents plunges him deep into a maelstrom of trouble in the latest entry in the number-one New York Times best-selling series.

The first agent disappearance was a puzzle.

The second was a mystery.

The third was a conspiracy.

Intelligence operatives around the world are disappearing. When a missing American agent re-appears in Venezuela, Court Gentry, the Gray Man, is dispatched to bring him in, but a team of assassins has other ideas. Court escapes with his life and a vital piece of intelligence.

Meanwhile, CIA agent Zoya Zakharova is in Berlin. Her mission: to infiltrate a private intelligence firm with some alarming connections. The closer she gets to answers, the less likely she is to get out alive.

Court and Zoya are just two pieces on this international chessboard, and they're about to discover one undeniable truth - sometimes capturing a king requires sacrificing some pawns.

When I say normal service is resumed - I mean that this book returns to the story written in the third person and not first person perspective as was the case in One Minute Out.

There were a lot of moving parts to this book - it must have been a monumental task for Mark Greaney to weave them all together - that little twist at the end, well I predicted who the leak was, and I suspect most die hard fans of the series would do so too.

That person needs to wake up and find Gentry at the end of their bed, pistol aimed and safety off in some future novel.

This book was a very face paced all action novel and I would highly recommend it. Whilst it does stand alone and various references are made to the past, I do recommend reading the stories in order.

Enjoy!

If you enjoy the series, you'll be interested to know that Netflix are currently filming an adaptation of the first novel, staring Ryan Gosling - info from IMDB.

[To the reviewer "Principatus" who wished for more series as good as this, I would strongly recommend:
Scott Mariani's Ben Hope series
Matt Dawson's John Milton series
Matthew Reilly's Scarecrow series}

Shame we can't leave comments directly on each others reviews, crowd-sourced recommendations are the way forward.

i was a bit skeptical about this one becuase the storyline has done a full round but kudos to Mark Greaney for not only keeping this book exciting but also creating excitement on what is to come next. waiting for the next book.

I liked the intrigue & the plot as it moved around the globe. The characters are of course a little predictable but I liked the story more because of this.

Great story that’s well told

Great storylines with lots of action. Despite the improbable situations it kept a good pace throughout.
Looking forward to the next book.
