About this listen

My job is simple: make Maverick Jennings, the world’s grumpiest quarterback, look like a decent human being. If I can’t fix his reputation, I can kiss my dream of launching my own brand consulting business goodbye.

His job? Making my life a living nightmare.

He’s arrogant, impossible, and entirely too handsome for someone so determined to self-destruct. He rejects every idea, challenges every strategy, and looks at me like he can’t decide whether to strangle me or kiss me. Honestly, same.

But the closer I get to the man behind the headlines, the more I realize his scowl is hiding a world of pain.

He’s my most difficult client. I’m his last chance.

It only takes one reckless night to change everything.

Somewhere between tension and temptation, protecting his image became more than just a job. Now my career is in the red zone, and the wrong choice between loyalty and love could cost me everything.

RED ZONE is a spicy Pro Football, Enemies to Lovers, Grumpy/Sunshine Romance from Amazon Top Ten Bestselling author Lisa Suzanne. This standalone in the Bradley Legacy is a swoony, emotional roller coaster that will tug at your heartstrings.

This is the third book in The Bradley Legacy series, a sports romance, and I absolutely loved it! Maverick and Everleigh’s slow burn romance is fun, passionate, and engaging. Maverick is a grumpy, handsome and enigmatic football player, while Everleigh, the Bradley sister and a brand strategist, is smart, and determined. Their opposites attract dynamic works perfectly, making this a beautifully written grumpy sunshine romance. Liam DiCosimo and Stefanie Kay did a fantastic job bringing the characters and their story to life. I really enjoyed this one—Lisa Suzanne never disappoints!

The chemistry is sizzling in the pro football romance and the line in the book where Everly says she feels like the gif from Golden Girls where Blanch sprays water on herself describes how she feels when dealing with Maverick is how the readers will feel about this book boyfriend.

There is more to the grumpy pro footballer that Everly slowly drags from him and in the process the first angsty intimate encounter flourishes to more.

Tragedy surrounds them both and the support they give each other leads to love until her father’s underground casino causes Maverick to beg Everly to save his career but she chooses her father which leads to their romance to be blown apart.

It takes the owner of the Vegas Aces and her mother and brother, Mac’s teammate to allow Everly to see she chose the wrong man.

The Bonus epilogue is rather romantic and finishes the book perfectly.

How much fun is this? Everleigh is the Bradley who is going to carry on the legacy of the family and being hired to help Maverick, a football player on the Vegas Aces pulls her right into the heart of it all. Maverick has an attitude. He has been traded to the Aces, and has been benched for his attitude after an injury caused by one of his teammates. Evie has her work cut out for her, as he doesn't want her there and isn't interested in the help. But her approach is so much different. Truly caring about her charge, she is working to find out what makes him tick and why he is the way he is. All that close proximity though has feelings growing and that is not allowed. Will they act on them and where does it all lead? I loved this. Why? Well, I loved having a female Bradley! Awesome character, she is emotionally driven and is very serious about her job. Maverick finds out just what it's like to be loved. But nothing is easy. Family is important and Evie has a choice to make. Plus there is so much going on! Give this one a listen, it's fantastic and truly shows Lisa Suzanne's talent.

Liam DiCosimo and Stefanie Kay are the story tellers and they bring this grumpy sunshine out right at the gate. DiCosimo understands all the facets of Maverick and uses his voice to let out every feeling he has. And he has a lot of them! Kay is Evie, full of love and passion, confusion and frustration. She portrays the hurt and love of family perfectly. Together these two made the magic to keep me entertained and I loved it!

Red Zone is dynamic, fresh, and so fascinating! I absolutely LOVED this audiobook. From start to finish it is an intoxicating and intense story performed with passion and depth by two amazing narrators. This is the third story in the Bradley Series and can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone.

Everleigh is a bold and brilliant woman with so much compassion and an intense drive to protect those she cares about. Her world is complex, with a large family spread across the country—all of whom are successful in their own right. Her relationships with her siblings are beautifully built, and her self-image and self-worth shine through in each of her actions. Her growing pains in this story are palpable, and her spitfire banter and undeniably hot connection with Maverick burn white hot. Full stop, some of her actions and reactions were frustrating to me, and yet I could also see why they are pivotal to her character’s development and the storyline. With multiple dramas and a slew of situations to wade through, I found myself talking to her as if I was in the story with her.

Maverick is a football star with a bad rap—some of it earned but mostly he is misunderstood because he is so private off the field. Battling his own set of challenges from his past and in his present, we get to know a dynamic and amazing human being who is deeply hurting and lacks a support system to help him navigate. I adored the way he chooses to give back without asking for any recognition in return. Hiis character is really well thought out and written, shining light on the difficulties of dealing with fame, family matters, and finding a healthy balance. His traumas are deep and real, making him relatable and intense.

The banter between Ev and Mav is so much fun, especially once he feels safe enough to let her see the real him. Their chemistry is electric, spicy, and powerful. The subplots definitely mix it up and keep things interesting between the interplay with Mav’s teammates, the coaches, team owner, and their families. Author Lisa Suzanne has delivered a winning combo on all fronts with this one!

Everleigh and Maverick may start this book not liking each other, but it doesn't stay that way! The push and pull between them was really funny at points, and when they finally stop assuming things and seeing the other as they actually are, things heat up. These two were fun to read together, and the tension between them is great. The things happening in the background will keep you entertained until the end of this one while you wonder how things will turn out.

I listened to this one on audiobook, and it was a good listen. The narrators' voices fit these characters well. There were bits from Maverick's POV that had me laughing because the female voice the narrator used, but I think that sort of thing is always going to give me a chuckle. Overall, this is a good listen that I'd recommend.

Tension!
