BACKUP PLAN is an emotional and spicy sports standalone romance with a single mom, a secret relationship, and a pro football player who falls first from Amazon Top Ten Bestselling Author Lisa Suzanne.
Moving into my best friend’s brother’s penthouse was never part of my plan. Neither was falling for him. But when a few drinks with pro football quarterback Liam Bradley leave me tangled in his sheets, my plans have been derailed.
When Liam offers me a room in his penthouse so I can move out of my soon-to-be ex’s house, it seems like the perfect backup plan while I navigate an ugly divorce and try to keep my life together for my two young boys.
Somewhere between video game tournaments with my boys and late-night conversations over cereal, what was supposed to be a one-time thing is turning into more. But Liam is the last man I should want and the worst possible distraction…which is why we’re sneaking around in secret.
While Liam fights for the chance to finally become more than a backup quarterback, I'm fighting to protect my boys from a man determined to use every mistake against me. And falling for my backup plan is already complicated enough before another woman shows up carrying Liam Bradley's baby.

Liam is in turmoil, released from Philadelphia, where he was the backup QB, due to all the drama with his father's indictment and flying back to Chicago; the team deemed him not worth the trouble.
Penelope is Everly's best friend and is going through a messy divorce after her husband was caught on the jumbotron making out with someone other than Penelope.
Needing a break from her two boys, her mom babysits, and Penelope goes into a bar and runs into Liam.
What follows is talking, a night they both need, and a connection neither suspected.
Both realise they calm each other: Liam, from his unsure football career and his upcoming court appearance for his father's trial. Penelope, from her obnoxious husband who is delaying the divorce and leaving the boys with a nanny when it's his weekend.
Wanting to keep their relationship from Everly, which is now growing, and when she moves into his apartment, and the boys love him. It gets harder and harder to keep their secret.
Liam gets a contract with San Diego; he asks Penelope and the boys to move with him. What comes next is unexpected.
Throw in a baby for Liam with a waitress from before Penelope- the waitress doesn't want the baby. And Penelope's husband brings up her relationship with Liam at their divorce court appearance, and Liam decides it will make the outcome more difficult for Penelope, and they break up.
Both are devastated, so Everly intervenes after the baby is born, and Liam is a single dad. Penelope reaches an agreement with her ex, therefore finalising the divorce. Liam is in the courtroom for the verdict with the baby, and he asks her to join him in San Diego.
Then he goes to his father's trial and finds out his dad has asked his lawyer not to question any of his children, maybe atoning for his previous wrongdoings.
Once they move, he buys a place for Penelope to realise her dream of owning a coffee shop. A great HEA

Ryan Lee Dunlap and Bridget Bordeaux narrate.
Backup Plan is an emotional, heartfelt, and drama-filled sports romance with wonderful chemistry, family moments, and plenty of tension. As the sixth book in The Bradley Legacy series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone, although returning readers will love spending more time with the Bradley family.
Penny Wade is trying to rebuild her life while navigating a difficult divorce and protecting her two young boys. Moving into her best friend’s brother’s penthouse is supposed to provide her with a safe place to stay while she works out what comes next. Developing feelings for Liam Bradley was never part of her plan.
I really liked Penny. She is a devoted mother who is doing everything she can to create a stable and loving life for her children. Her situation felt complicated and emotional, and I appreciated that her boys remained at the centre of every decision she made.
Liam is a professional football player fighting for the opportunity to prove that he deserves to be more than a backup quarterback. He is charming, supportive, protective, and completely gone for Penny long before either of them is ready to admit how serious their relationship has become.
I especially loved the way Liam connected with Penny’s boys. The video game tournaments, everyday conversations, and quiet family moments showed that he was not only falling for Penny, but also becoming attached to the life they could build together.
The chemistry between Penny and Liam is immediate, but it is their emotional connection that makes the relationship work. What begins as an unexpected night together slowly becomes secret conversations, stolen moments, and feelings neither of them can ignore. Their late-night conversations over cereal were some of my favourite scenes because they allowed their relationship to develop beyond their physical attraction.
There is plenty of tension surrounding Penny’s divorce, Liam’s career, and the risk of their secret relationship becoming public. Some unexpected drama creates uncertainty between them, although there were moments when I wished they had communicated more openly.
Ryan Lee Dunlap and Bridget Bordeaux did a wonderful job bringing Liam and Penny’s story to life. Bridget captured Penny’s strength, vulnerability, and fierce love for her children, while Ryan delivered Liam’s confidence, warmth, and protective nature beautifully. Their performances made the emotional and romantic moments even more engaging.
Backup Plan is a wonderful addition to The Bradley Legacy series with a lovable hero, a strong single mother, adorable family moments, plenty of chemistry, and enough drama to keep me invested until the end.

Ryan Lee Dunlap and Bridget Bordeaux bring this gem to life. Dunlap is a favorite, as he can adapt to any character. As Liam, he is passionate, loving and warm. and at the same time he is insecure, and a mess. I loved how he started him out kind of care free and used his voice to show his growth. Bordeaux is fantastic as Penny. Emotional, strong, maternal she pulls out all the stops when it comes to her feelings. Love her as a mama bear protecting her kids and just as easily spins into a sensual lover. These two are fantastic together and made for a wonderful listen.
Love these Bradleys!
