Love the eagles of Rome aeries and enjoyed rhis book. Felt the survival of Macro was a bit contrived and a little unrealistic, but it did give good commentaryon the Iceni camp. I would have liked more from the Iceni side during the final battle to give their side of the story here, but then suppose specialised Boudicca novel will do this. As ever the narration of Jonathan Keeble is exceptional and I actively seek out the audiobooks he voices.

The most recent books in the series have moved at a fairly sedat pace and included quite a lot of politics/conspiracies. This one is fast paced and action packed. great descriptions of skirmishes and battles. Truly never a dull moment. All read by one of the best narrators - bought it all to life
