Matt Hunter lost his faith a long time ago. Formerly a minister, now a professor of sociology, he’s writing a book that debunks the Christian faith while assisting the police with religiously motivated crimes.
On holiday with his family in Oxfordshire, Matt finds himself on edge in a seemingly idyllic village, but when a local girl goes missing, he's caught up in an investigation that brings memories to the surface he would prefer to stay buried deep…He must draw on his theological knowledge to catch the killer.

A profound, disturbing and addictive read.
Religion comes into a lot of novels, especially in the horror genre, and usually it's a reaction to main story or is part of the background. In Purged, religion is central, but it isn't Christianity that is put under the microscope, it's people's reactions and actions motivated by beliefs and the different ways they behave in order to express their beliefs or 'save' others, as well as the preconceptions we all hold towards spiritual beliefs not our own.
Peter Laws is uniquely placed to explore these themes and has delivered a profound, disturbing and addictive read. I loved it!

Woah!! Gripping, dark And laced in humour
Subtle humour laces this otherwise dark and descriptively deathly book. Amazing work Mr Laws. I HAVE to get the next one. Blown away.
