Jennifer Adams, best friend to Jacque Pierce and Sally Morgan, is spicy, outspoken, a little crazy, and human . . . or so she thought. Jen has just found out that human DNA is not the only thing that resides in her veins; she happens to share that little pesky werewolf gene, although it isn't more than just a drop. Now that she and her friends are living in Romania with Fane's pack, she is also oh so conveniently stuck with the object of her affection, the fur ball Decebel.

Four packs of the powerful Grey wolves - in a rare show of cooperation - had joined together here in an effort to help their pack members find true mates. Summary
Jacque Pierce was just an ordinary 17-year-old girl getting ready to start her senior year of high school in Coldspring, Texas. When a mysterious foreign exchange student from Romania moves in across the street, Jacque and her two best friends, Sally and Jen, don't realize the last two weeks of their summer are going to get a lot more interesting. From the moment Jacque sets eyes on Fane she feels an instant connection; a pull like a moth to a flame. Little does she know that the flame she is drawn to is actually a Canis Lupus, werewolf, and she just happens to be his mate, the other half of his soul.
The problem is, Fane is not the only wolf in Coldspring, Texas. Just as Fane and Jacque are getting to know each other, another wolf steps out to try and claim Jacque as his mate. Fane will now have to fight for the right to complete the mating bond, something that is his right by birth but is being denied him by a crazed Alpha. Will the love Fane has for Jacque be enough to give him the strength to defeat his enemy? And will Jacque accept that she is Fane's mate and complete the bond between them?

Pretty good YA
The characters behave their age without being overdone. The plot moves at a good pace with lots of action, ups and downs. Jen and Sally as comic relief just crack me up though sometimes I want Jen to shut up so we can hear what comes next. The writing is pretty simple but effective and the narration was good. All in all, I'm on to Bk 2!

Great Book , fabulous series
Loved the book before I bought the audio. Great narration, it added another level of depth to the story. Unfortunately, for me, the voice of Jen really grated, in reading the series I got the idea of someone with sharp caustic wit and the husky gritty voice sounded more like someone who had smoked for 40 years and was a bit drunk. Maybe it says her voice is husky and I forgot about it, but it didn't gel for me hence 4* rating. Saying that, the voices of Kane and Jacque were spot on making me feel like I really know these people.

Beware!!
This is NOT Young Adult. This is young Pre-Teen!! I enjoy YA as much as the next guy but when a 17 year old girl screeches to the supposed love of her life, "Ewwwwwwww!!!!!!! You kissed me!!!!!! ", you get the idea the book you have chosen belongs next to Beezus and Ramona on the bookshelf although Ramona is much more mature. Add to this other gag worthy dialogue and professions of love and you just may have pulled the wrong book off the shelf.

The narration of the female characters left a lot to be desired. The teenagers (older teenagers) sounded more like they were pre-teens! Big tuneoff......

The narrator ruined it for me
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
If the author didn't make Jen sound like an old hag witch, I would have enjoyed it a lot more. I dreaded hearing Jen speak throughout the whole book. Don't know if I could purchase the rest of the series because of this.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I love Sally the best because she was always the one to mediate the other two or keep them grounded.
Would you be willing to try another one of Abby Craden’s performances?
I will never ever listen to any of her narrations. I hope that her narrations for the Grey Wolves Series can be changed because this will definitely be the breaking point for anyone interested in purchasing this audio book. Until that happens, I won't be purchasing the rest of the series.
Any additional comments?
Change the narrator. People would enjoy it a lot better and my rating will definitely go up. She's the reason this audio book is a 2. I rated this book on amazon after I read it and I gave it a 5. I gave this a 2 because I still like the story but hate cringing every time I hear Jen's lines. The narrator also made Sally sound like a little boy mouse. If that's even possible. Just had to put it out there so other potential listeners can be warned before "jumping the bullet" -- reference to Fane

Confusing characters
I am so confused! I can't tell if it's the readers performance or the writing. Probable A little of both. I feel like the characters are all over the place! The girls at different times sound like people who live in the 70s with all the right on's, far outs and what not. Oh and I don't get Texans at all she did sprinkle a few y'alls in I guess. Also, no 17-year-old knows that many old shows I don't like all the nicknames they have for each other and I feel like ALL the girls are shallow spoiled brats and the men are all over the place. She acts like a bratty 12 yr old most of the time while he is just this crazy in love pup who takes it. I am annoyed I bought the whole series to listen to. I am rarely this dissatisfied with a series. This is my first review after 2 years of audio books as a mail carrier.....so that explains a little.

Disturbing...
It’s a little odd and off putting to me to have seventeen year old characters sound like they are in their thirties.. late thirties. Especially Jen. She sounds like she smokes seven packs a day! I honestly couldn’t get past the first half and I’ve tried twice. What little bit of the story I managed to get in to after blocking out the awful narration was cheesy, to say the least. I understand this is YA but I can honestly say I’ve never once used the word “spy-tastic” in any conversations with friends or otherwise. Maybe it’s just me... thankfully this was a free title and I didn’t have to use a credit on it. Over all I would advise in saving your time and ear drums and picking a different book.

Amazing!
I LOVE this series. The dialogue is realistic and fits each characters' age or personality. I first fell in love with Quinn Loftis' books years ago after finding Elfin, another of her books. After reading Elfin, I moved on to the Grey Wolves series and, as soon as I started, I couldn't put it down. I read all the books that were available in less than a week and then began the waiting game as she wrote the next book in the series. This is one of my go to reads, and go to authors. Her book are always one click buys that, no matter what I'm doing, as soon as one comes out everything else gets pushed to the side. I seriously enjoy the comical things that the troublesome trio gets up to. This is a 5* story.
Now, as you can see, I only rated the audio 4 stars, even though the story is a five story. The reason is because, while the narrator did a super job of performing the book, I wasn't a fan of a lot of the voices she created for the characters. Example; Jennifer is a 17 year old girl but the narrator made her sound like a 40 year old chain smoker. That being said, I did enjoy the audio version of this story and fully intend to listen to the others.
Well done to the author and the narrator.

Don’t understand the great rating
Narration was terrible. Accents so horrible it was distracting, whiny pitch,or dry raspy awfulness. Dialogue was extremely repetitive to the point where after a chapter of the H’s POV the following chapter was an exact word for word recap with h’s voice but EXACT same dialogue with no different insight from H’s POV. I’ve read a lot of bad books and have never had to give up this early in the book bc every aspect was just unbearable.
