Jacque Pierce was just an ordinary 17-year-old girl getting ready to start her senior year of high school in Coldspring, Texas. Loved the book before I bought the audio. Great narration, it added another level of depth to the story. Unfortunately, for me, the voice of Jen really grated, in reading the series I got the idea of someone with sharp caustic wit and the husky gritty voice sounded more like someone who had smoked for 40 years and was a bit drunk. Maybe it says her voice is husky and I forgot about it, but it didn't gel for me hence 4* rating. Saying that, the voices of Kane and Jacque were spot on making me feel like I really know these people.
