I am currently doing all kinds of research for a most healthy and sustainable diet. I've looked into the Mediterranean diet and intermittent fasting, and after this listen I am now convinced that I must add plant-based meals as a main component of my daily food intake. The recipes sound absolutely delicious and this book does a great job of providing science-backed evidence as to why this is beneficial in so many ways. A wonderful listen if, like me, you are looking to improve your eating habits without sacrificing the pleasures of gastronomy.

I really thought this book would be a turn off to me because I do love my steaks, but I was pleasantly surprised. The author explains the pros and cons of a plant-based diet...not just pros, which is refreshing. I was surprised to learn that the Greek philosopher Pythagoras ate a plant based diet and advocated for it for its numerous health benefits. The author does note that one should eat a diet that one feels most comfortable with and does not try to force veganism which is often the case with these kinds of books. She has several simple recipes that I plan to try, especially the one with chick peas. Good, easy, and very informative read!
