About this listen

J. M. Barrie's classic Peter Pan is about a mischievous boy who can fly and magically refuses to grow up. Peter Pan spends his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland as the leader of his gang the Lost Boys, interacting with mermaids, Indians, fairies and pirates, and from time to time meeting ordinary children from the world outside.Public Domain (P)2009 Alpha DVD LLC Classics Fairy Tales, Folk Tales & Myths Literature & Fiction Movie, TV & Video Game Tie-Ins Science Fiction & Fantasy

I'm afraid the narrator of this version has totally ruined it. I am definitely not going to continue with the book after only a few chapters because his reading is so irritating. It sounds like he is trying to hypnotise me. I think he is trying to put on some kind of 'mysterious story-teller' voice, but the tone of each sentence is exactly the same monotonous, repetitive up/down tone, and he's taking big breaths in the middle of sentences. A shame, as the actual story is probably not bad.
