Perron Manor—a place evil calls home

Sisters Sarah and Chloe inherit a house they could never have previously dreamed of owning. It seems too good to be true.

Shortly after they move in, however, the siblings start to notice strange things: horrible smells, sudden drops in temperature, as well as unexplainable sounds and feelings of being watched.

All of that is compounded when they find a study upstairs, filled with occult items and a strange book written in Latin.

Their experiences grow more frequent and more terrifying, building towards a heart-stopping climax where the sisters come face to face with the evil behind Perron Manor. Will they survive and save their very souls?

Buy now and dive into the next great haunted house novel.

Haunted: Perron Manor is Book 1 in the Haunted series, which continues with Haunted: Devil's Door.

Average ghost story, dreadful OTT female voices from narrator & a very average & at times trite story - wouldn’t bother if I were you! Bought based on a FB review… save your money

The dreadful narration voices

I really don’t know what to say about this book. I really wanted to love it because I love a good haunted house story. But I really couldn’t gel with any of the characters and there were no memorable moments, except at the very end. Having said that, the story isn’t complete, but I don’t think I care enough about the characters to find out what happens next. Aside from that, and not reflected in my rating, I listened to this title in audio format and it was truly awful. As much of the book is from a female perspective, a female narrator would have been preferable and we wouldn’t have been left with a guy giving the women in the story such irritating squeaky voices. If I do read book two, I definitely won’t opt for the audio option.

Poor narration

not a bad story but the narrators voice and voices he puts on is grating. hard to listen to the story as the voices are so annoying.

Enjoyed the story which made me stick with the book but the narration was terrible when he voiced characters, he spoke too slow and in a really irritating tone, so much so I had to increase the speed of the book to make them sound like they were speaking at a normal rate and I’ve never had to do that in the 12 years I’ve been listening to audio books. Unfortunately couldn’t do anything about the tone. Will make me think twice before reading any others in this series if he is the narrator.

Enjoyed the story but worst narrator I’ve heard!

I almost gave up completely because the voices the narrator gave the characters were just plain awful! I also sped it up because he reads so painfully slowly. However I had wasted a credit on it so refused to give up 😂 the story is ok but sadly because of the aforementioned I will not be listening to the next book in the series even though a little part of me does want to know what happened!
If it’s in the plus catalogue, give it a go BUT I really wish I hadn’t used a credit on it.
