About this listen

Perfectionism is a character or personality trait that causes life to feel like a never-ending report card. A perfectionist feels as if they are being forever graded on their accomplishments, appearance, organization, and just about everything else.

This audiobook explores the ways in which perfection can have positive and motivational impacts, like providing the drive to overcome adversity or achieve certain goals. However, it can often become difficult to manage and lead to unhealthy outcomes that can translate quickly into anxiety, relationship challenges, daily struggles, and overall unhappiness.

You’ll learn how to identify perfectionistic tendencies and their triggers as well as how to build self-acceptance and self-esteem. Learning to cope with and manage perfectionism can lead to better relationships with family, coworkers, and most importantly, with yourself.

Case studies, professional advice, practical tips, chapter recaps, and several easy-to-follow mini-lessons are included in order to make this an audiobook that listeners will use as a reference tool for many years to come.

This is a very well written audiobook and i love the fact you can tell the author took the time to make a research about the topic as well as mixing her research with real life experience, this is something i really appreciate. I can't lie, I have suffered with perfectionism for the longest time and it’s something that has really been eating away at me as It’s held me back so many times, I'm also an over analyzer and they go hand in hand. Finding this audiobook was amazing and so insightful it provided a practical way to mitigate my bad thought loops. . This book helps not only to understand how perfectionism affects people's lives and talks about how it can become unhealthy,I love how this audiobook also give you a direct tactic which you can use in order to identify if you yourself are truly a perfectionist..So if you think you’re perfectionist or know someone who is, this book is a great resource and tremendous help.

I am a perfectionist and it can be so annoying sometimes! So often I'd obsess over insignificant little details in a project that's otherwise ready to go, without even realizing it. And of course it delays the project delivery and I sometimes even miss the deadline.
This audiobook is a great roadmap to finding balance (for me it's when working). It explains both the good and ugly sides of being a perfectionist and helps just to pick up the best of both, and leave the useless hovering and obsessing behind. There are follow up strategies and I also liked the chapter on perfectionism in children, which would be super useful for parents whose kids think their school projects are never good enough.
Overall an amazing audiobook!
