Summary

This is fecking serious, so it is!

Bishop's Point is about to face its biggest crisis since the distempered badgers attacked. Father O'Riley and Father O'Malley are all that stand in the devil's way. The forces of Hell descend upon the sleepy Irish town en masse, but they were not expecting the good fathers to lead a rebellion against them.

Non stop sniggers

A wonderfully farcical tale that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. If you're a fan of Father Ted you will recognise the countless homages paid to the show throughout the book.

Justin Mills narration is top notch, you can tell he had great fun producing it. I was particularly amused by his use of spoken sound effects which adds even more to the humour of this already funny book.

All in all if you need a laugh at the end of a busy day you cannot go wrong with "Our Fathers".

humour

One day a farmer from Bishop's Point, decides to read an incantation from and old dusty book in the local library and because of this a dark spell releases Satan from Hell.

Now two priests Father O'Riley a natural demon fighter and Father O'Malley, with the help of locals from Bishop's Point they fight the devil and his demons off. As Satan has decided to make Bishop's Point his home.
I laughed out loud and had to keep listening and reading this book. Lesson do not read Latin out loud from an old book ever.

Loved the narration of Justin Mills, I could hear the humour .

A devilishly funny tale

The Gates to Hell have been opened in the tiny Irish town of Bishop’s Point. Father O'Riley and Father O'Malley are the only hope of saving the town from the diabolic horde.

Another masterpiece from the maelstrom of ideas residing in the head of Simon Carr. As always there are so many hilarious bits of dialog that make most of Mr Carr’s work unsuitable for reading on public transport – Oh! The looks you get from the other passengers when you look like you’re in the middle of a medical emergency.

The only thing that could be improved with the audiobook would be a more authentic range of Irish accents from the narrator

Brilliant just brilliant

This is the funniest book I have listened to for ages. 2 priests and 3 other idiots save the world from the apocalypse with the aid of a candle snuffer outer, a handbag and a milk float. This book pokes fun at everything from religion to political correctness to Star Wars. Its rude, its hilarious, its fabulous. The narration is an absolute joy, a stellar performance from Justin Mills. There are even sound effects. The dialogue is laugh out loud funny, I got some very strange looks on the bus. The characters are suitably idiotic, I mean to start the apocalypse trying to curse your neighbours goat but reading the wrong curse because you cannot read Latin, sets the tone for the entire book. I really like Simon Carr's work and this is up there with the best. I received a complimentary copy of the audio from the author and am leaving a honest voluntary review.

The best simon carr yet

This was amazing. It’s like father ted meets poltergeist with a sprinkling of Shaun of the dead. I loved this. I think this is my favourite simon carr book so far. The humour in this is brilliant. The narrator absolutely nailed this
