About this listen

The only thing for certain is the deaths were no accident.

Rayner High School, once a prestigious school, stands in ruins after such a terrible event.

A year later, a group of friends return to the abandoned school and their nightmare begins.

Something wants to get out and won’t take no for an answer…

I enjoyed revisiting Ouija and, if anything, loved it even more the second time round. The Audible narration definitely helped with this as the atmosphere which kept me hooked as I was reading felt more tangible when I was listening thanks to the narrator's engaging reading style. I felt that all the emotions the author wanted me to feel were evident in the narration.

When I first read Ouija, I loved the characters and felt that Zoé-Lee O'Farrell had captured the characters of the teenagers in particular really well. Luke William Bromley does a fantastic job of bringing them to life and making their discussions animated. He also uses a slightly different accent for each character so it's easy to tell who is speaking the whole way through.

The ending of Ouija is very tense and the narrator is wonderful at conveying this to the audience. Once again, I was totally on edge as the story reached its conclusion!

With echoes of Final Destination, Ouija is a great old-school teen horror story with plenty to keep you on your toes. Though set in the modern era, this has a real 90s vibe (for me anyway) and is reminiscent of a good old fashioned slasher. If creepy old dolls and sinister demons float your boat, then this one’s for you. Very well narrated, too.

A slice of teen horror 👀

Oh gosh, this one got me good! It’s a young adult horror, but I’m not going to lie, I was on edge listening to this, even others around me thought I was a little more jumpier than usual! Signs of a good horror but I do think the narrator played a big part in this, his sinister voice just gave me the chills.

I had my eye on Ouija for a while, so when the time presented to get stuck in, I couldn’t wait and when I did start listening, I found myself clock watching for the time I could get back into it, and scare myself whilst I was at it- doesn’t help when things such as my bin lid falls off randomly either whilst listening.

Ouija had a little nostalgia for me as well, it was on a par with the old goosebump tales, but some of them scared the crap out of me too! Honestly, this one was gripping, spooky and atmospheric. And if you get change to listen to the audiobook, I highly recommend you do, especially if you want an immersive experience with this read!

This was an unusual read for me as I had both the e-book and the audio to choose from - so I decided to sit and read it on my phone, whilst also listening to it through my earphones!

Well, I can confirm that this was a mistake!

The narrator did the most amazing job with this and managed to create such a great atmosphere and I was even more immersed than ever by having it all up close with no distractions!

I'm starting to get back into my horror reading and I know that this is aimed at a much younger age group audience than me - but I blooming loved it so much!!

The writing was amazing!
I was so completely immersed right from the start and had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen to this group of friends.
I raced through this in just 2 sittings - I'd have carried on and done it in one had I not been so creeped out that I couldn't listen into the evening - my husband was away and I was just so on edge I had to wait until the morning to finish it!

The characters were a perfect mix - the dynamics between the friends felt so authentic and their fear was so palpable throughout.
The descriptive writing had me on edge as I could visualise everything so vividly!
The storyline flowed perfectly and was so fast-paced and tense from the first page to the last! - and I "loved" the little final twist!!

This was my first read by Zoé and I really hope that there will be much more to come - I absolutely loved everything about this one!!

obsessed!!
