Summary

Bridget Collins is in dire straits - she needs to get out of New York, fast. With two young siblings under her wing, her options are limited.

Her priest sends her as an outplacement agent on the orphan trains that run from New York to out west. With almost 40 orphans under her care, she's relieved that fellow and more experienced outplacement agent Carl Watson is there to guide her. But Carl is dealing with his own trauma and finds it difficult to handle the pain the orphans are dealing with.

Through tears and laughter, everyone on the orphan train has a lesson to teach about love, life, and loyalty. And Bridget finds a new, unexpected calling. Every child deserves a happy home and Bridget is determined to do whatever it takes to ensure that happens. No matter what the cost....

Wonderful story that pulls at the heart strings

I enjoyed this story very much and the narrators were very good and extremely convincing. I thoroughly recommend Orphan Train Escape.

Difficult as couldn’t listen to it

I cannot review this book unfortunately as the narrator was so awful it made it impossible for me to stick with it

A lovely story

I saw some complaints about narrator, but I liked her reading. A bit too fast for my taste, but thankfully there is an option to slow it down 🤷🏼‍♀️
And the story itself was gripping and unpredictable. Again, some reviewers were not happy with some romance included, probably wanting to hear just about traumatising kids experience. But that’s exactly what I loved about this book - a love story too!

Narration dull and monotonous

Not a bad start to a series but couldn’t get past the dull monotone of the narrator totally spoiled the book. I see further books in the series are read by the same narrator such a shame.

Brilliant

What a great story, I was totally griped by the event's that unfolded, and the way everything gradually came to a perfect ending 😆

poor narration

the story was pretty good, with nice wholesome characters. a gentle listen with no surprises, very predictable. BUT the narration was awful, the lady spoke so fast that I turned my listening speed right down, which made it sound like a record on a turntable at the wrong setting! I did persevere😣but only because I'm stubborn and hate giving up on things. not sure if I would recommend, maybe as a freebie.

Couldn’t listen

I was looking forward to listening to this story, however, after only a couple of chapters and skipping ahead to listen to a later chapter, I gave up. The narration is terrible. One pitch, monotone, and hardly pausing for breath in between sentences. I really do wish whoever decides on the narrator would be a lot more choosy. What a shame. A good book ruined.
