Summary

Somebody once told a joke.

A man ran in place all his life. He worked a job he didn't love for people he couldn't stand. But at the end of the day, the number in his bank account went up.

That man got a second chance at life. He woke up in another world, one full of adventures and romances and monsters and gods. And floating above his head, he saw the number "1".

So what did he say?

"Gosh, I better make the number go up."

Not today. Not for this old soul. Reborn as a beast of battle meant to live a short life and die screaming, Garek refuses. He puts the madness of skills and levels behind him and sets out to found a little farmstead. He grows crops. Maybe someday he'll get a pig and have bacon.

It's a shame the world won't let him be. It's a shame that the warmongers and level-grinders hate nothing more than a soul at peace.

He put down his sword for a plowshare, but when trouble comes calling, he'll pick it up again.

Didn't have high expectations but i ended up really enjoying the characters and the story. Good mix between full on action and serene farming isekai. I will definitely get the next installment and can't wait to find out what's next.

Positively surprised.

Nice to read something not a paste and cut, twists and turns on standard lpg generally. Good characters with depth and interest

very interesting take on things

I really enjoyed this book! Despite having read many Isekai stories and fear this might be a another generic story, it kept me engaged throughout. Great characters and interesting background story, no harem, and no main character making irrational decisions to forward the plot. The narration was one of the better I have listened to so far. The voice fit the minotaur perfectly and I am looking forward to reading the second book. Would definitely recommend it!

engaging story, fantastic narration

(sorry for the pun) Among a genre that has many overpowered characters, this story stands out excellently by Humanising the protagonist, and making his struggles relatable even in their absurdity.
the story features an excellent roll of characters, all likeable in their own ways, or bringing something to the stor, fantastic action, and a Narator that knows his business well in Jonathan Keeble.
God's and tyrants should tremble when a good man (Minotaur) goes to war.

A Moo-nsterously good listen
