About this listen

Even sleepy, picturesque coastal towns have their secrets.

Welcome to Solva, where a burned-out car, a corpse, and a hauntingly precise execution greets a morning walker.

DCI Evan Warlow faces a case steeped in fear and the worst of modern crimes.

As clues lead him down twisting trails, Warlow must confront not only the killer’s identity but also the lingering echoes of a community’s darkest sins and the intersection of power, revenge, and justice.

Edge of the seat crime fiction. One Less Snake is the twisty 16th novel from best-selling crime author, Rhys Dylan. Perfect for fans of JD Kirk, Simon McCleave, and Peter Robinson

Every book makes me love the main characters and Wales even more. The writing and performance are both faultless.

I love his work. The voices are brilliant and you get to know the characters

Fabulous plot

The storyline, the plot are always a joy to go on their journey. Difficult to work out the twists and turns that unfold, and I usually manage to preempt (not with Rhys Dylan books). The way the story is told is one of the best narrators that is consistent through all 18 of his books thus far. I’m Welsh and live as well as travel to the parts in the book. So accurate and authentic. The intertwining of the Welsh language at times gives greater authenticity to the story and characters. Each character has developed through the book and stay true to themselves adding coherence, like ability, believability with a depth and richness that drives the storyline. Really looking forward to 19 and beyond. Thank you for the gift of theses books.

Amazing in every way

Good story (guessed it though) but a little too much philosophical/ethical comment disguised by comments from the characters.
Like the interweaving of ‘normal’ life from the characters. Maybe a few less puns please!

Like catching up

I love these stories of harrowing events investigated by a team of detectives with integrity warmth and humour which is at times of necessity, the little dark. I love the descriptions of the wonderful Welsh scenery and the kindness which echoes in comments in both Welsh and English. I can't wait for the next one.

Another wonderful installment of this brilliant series.
