About this listen

The number one best-selling series that Audible listeners call “wonderfully entertaining”, “packed with humor, geek references and thought-provoking storylines”, and performed by “a true master story teller and actor” returns as the Bobs face their deadliest challenge yet.

The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all.

But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy. Sure, it could settle the Fermi Paradox for good (and what Bob doesn’t want to solve a mystery of the universe?). But it also reveals a threat to the galaxy greater than anything the Bobs could have imagined.

Just another average day in the Bobiverse.

I have enjoyed these books for a long time, but this story felt like one big post credit scene that teased the next book. lots of little stories with rogue AI, P.G.F. Dragons, and Bobiverse politics. entertaining as usual looking forward to the next book and will definitely be listening to this one a few more times.

Felt like a placeholder

I have listened to the Bobiverse books multiple times, the first three were a master piece of story telling , and heavens river was a good follow up, this however, seems to be a collection of story ideas that didn't make it to a full book thrown together in the hopes that it will make a full book. The whole sub plot around the dragons went no where at all, and seems to have been shoehorned in a filler. I do not think I will be re listening to this one anytime soon.

Whilst I'd probably actually give this 4.5, the number of bobs are beginning to get confusing, especially when you have Howard doing 2 or 3 different .. side quests shall we say

the continuation of the story remains amazing, I'm so excited to see what happens next

The narration was again excellent. The different threads of the story kept it interesting and entertaining.
