What I love about these books is that the Bobiverse isn't always hanging at a knives edge. Even large problems are fairly realistic in how they are approached.

Is there tension? Sure. Are there problems that need solving? Galore. Does the hero need to fight through the pain to defeat the bad guy or we're all doomed this very second? Thankfully no.

I love these books and as long as he keeps pumping them out I'll keep buying them. They're interesting, novel and thoughtful.

Love the Bobiverse and was pleased to find a new book was about to be released after I had just re-listened to the previous books. Nice to get more of the same but was a little disappointed that it lacked a complete story arc. It's more of a filler episode in the series. Setting up a new major plot line and leaving it all own ready for the next installment. The first 3 books each had a primary story arc that concluded but led on to the next chapter. This one didn't seem to have that payoff and left me feeling unsatisfied. The Dragon storyline was the only complete arc and that simply wasn't substantial enough to carry the book. Overall a decent 'episode' but doesn't work as a standalone book.

loved the fact that the story was spread out over the whole Bobiverse and not centered on one planet, loose ends tied up and sets up the next book in a wonderful way.

although a welcome addition to the Bobiverse, I felt like some of the story arch's were somewhat recycled or gave a suggestion of something significant but did not lead to anything climactic. Maybe the next book will fill this in but it did have a few 'climactic' events towards the end that I found the opposite as they were sparsely touched upon throughout.
