Summary
Ric Edelman, one of the nation's best-known and most successful financial advisors is on a mission - to replace the financial "non-sense" that abounds today and replace it with financial "un-common sense". Ric calls his advice "un-common sense" because most people haven't thought through their financial plans completely enough to see the errors that they may be making - errors that compounded over time could cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars in future wealth!
In this program Ric debunks much of the hearsay and misconceptions in today's financial advice community and gives you solid, structured, proven financial advice to help you build a future that will give you financial peace of mind.
What more could you ask for?
Here's just some of what you'll learn from Ric Edelman:
- The eight secrets of how 5,000 of his "middle class" clients became successful investors
- The ten mental mistakes that investors must avoid
- New rules for your income, expenses and debt
- The truth about paying off your mortgage
- The best ways to plan for retirement
- Picking great mutual funds - and when to cut them loose
- Sound financial reasons to switch jobs
- The best way to save for your child's future
- And so much more!

A Little Dated Now... Overall Good Information
This program was created prior to the 2008 economic recession and some of the financial recommendations and strategies reflect that. Things have changed in the mortgage and medical industries that no longer make some of the material completely accurate.
However, this program does provide different prospectives from the traditional financial planning industry. Instead of providing a pure textbook approach, the author provides statistics of what worked with the financially successful individuals in the early 2000s.
Overall, a little dated but still quality information.

Investment Book
This book is a good reference book to use in the future. I found it to be repetitive. I had to force myself to complete it but there is valuable information that can be used depending on where you are in your financial journey.

Straightforward
No BS from Ric. He says exactly what he thinks and I appreciate his advice. Picked up some good points that I've begun putting to use. Very entertaining to listen to and he talks so fast you get double the information as a normal narrator in the same amount of time

Genie Out Of The Bottle
I've read several books by Ric Edelman, and became convinced that he is bona fide because I was lucky enough to have stumbled onto his method by - luck, trial and error, or, more likely God's grace. I was able to get out of debt and build a substantial retirement savings over the years using they same principles and method he describes. I just didn't know how, not could I teach out to my kids. This allows me to pass on what I was so desperate to tell them in a thorough, eloquent, enjoyable way. Mr Edelman's method and approach is not only insightful, but is well thought out. I enjoyed his reading style and his ability to stress the important points to get his point across to his audience. The book was full of examples that didn't require me to get out my calculator or dictionary. I was delighted. Great education while driving!
