I’m a sucker for authentic feeling mafia guys & the Italian phrases throughout the book were perfect! I can’t wait to listen to the audiobook because it's going to be so yummy!

Giana never disappoints. I’m so in love with her writing - she’s just so amazing at giving sensuality to her characters that it never feels like they’re being too OTT. Always such a swoony romance with great heat!

The FMC is strong, lovely, smart, equally possessive and i loved her. Read this in one sitting. That's how much i was entertained ❤️
From the opening scene this had me feeling nostalgic. It took me back to the first time I discovered mafia romance where the mmc oozed real power, danger & were protectors & very possesive not scared to be romantic. And the fmc were feisty and had that longing for something which made them so relatable & arent afraid of their feelings. The mouth on Raffa 🥵🔥....
Giana Darling is a great writer and she made fall in love just as these two were falling, I was hooked from the start and the narrators where chef kiss.. I loved Dane Anderson's Italian accent 🔥 CJ Bloom has such a gorgeous feminine voice & she perfectly portrayed Guinevire and she came across as warm , innocent & very likeable.
Loved Raffaele's found family.
There is so many questions yet to be answered like who is the elusive San Marco? Why did Guinevire's dad leave Italy? What else is coming ??
The cliffhanger will leave you wanting & it's pure torture because book two My dark ever after is coming 25/10/25 , I can't wait

Giana manages to write so exquisitely that she makes you believe that you are personally experiencing Guinevere's journey in Tuscany and, particularly, Florence.
Rafael is the most gorgeously drawn capo with a beautiful heart which shines through when he runs into Vera (personally I don't like this shortened version of a beautiful name) my heart melts when he takes her into his home and cares for her.
What an amazing way to spend a six week holiday draped in the arms of a delicious mafiosa!
I am not sure what to think about the ending, though! On one hand, being the person she was like, her reaction was extreme, and I didn't like her for it, but she is young, and it was a good ending for a duet ... so we shall see how our little story continues shortly!
The #duetnarration was phenomenal, and Dane could literally narrate the phone directory to me in Italian, and I would swoon!
