About this listen

Welcome to Silver Pines—where the coffee’s strong, the locals are quirky, and even the furniture has secrets.

After years away, Clare Garner is back in her hometown, happily restoring antique pieces and running her family’s furniture gallery. With her high school sweetheart, Jackson Barrett, by her side and a big corporate project on the horizon, life is finally falling into place.

That is, until Blake Catalano—her swoon-worthy college ex—waltzes back into town with a smile and something he’s definitely not telling her.

Things take a sharp turn when a body turns up, and suddenly both Blake and Jackson are suspects in the murder. With tensions rising and the rumor mill in overdrive, Clare must untangle the mystery—before someone else takes a permanent break from small-town charm.

Perfect for fans of slow-burn romance, small-town drama, and mysteries wrapped in charm, Murder at Maisie’s is the cozy escape you’ve been craving.

This is the first book in the Silver Pines Mysteries series, a small-town cozy mystery. The characters are interesting and well developed. I loved following Clare, Jackson, and Blake in this story. The storyline is intriguing and entertaining. I’m looking forward to more in the series to know what happens next. Eleanor Caudill and Sebastian York did an excellent job bringing these characters and this story to life.

This cozy small town mystery had me speculating who was the murderer the entire time! This was a super cute listen and easy to follow along with. I really enjoyed that throughout we were getting hints about the murder that could have been several different people! All in all, a great plot throughout.

Eleanor Caudill and Sebastian York did a great job on this one! Their voices went great together. Another great audiobook production by Blue Nose Audio

I have listened to the series out of order but this still kept me engaged despite knowing the outcome (as the culprit is mentioned by name in later books). It is cosy duet with Hallmark x Cabot Cove vibes and a hint of romance and a great quick listen. Eleanor Caudill is perfect as Clare who finds herself embroiled in a mystery after finding the victim. Clare is very sweet and kind but her little flashes of anger and jealousy now and again keep her on the right side of being a Mary Sue. Sebastian York is always great but his Jackson was probably my favourite. There are some darker hints to his past and upbringing but on the whole its a pretty low angst story. Similarly with the romance, I was expecting some more rivalry between Jackson and Blake but the love triangle is very much three separate lines at the moment. I did like the showdown with Jackson and Claire on the porch though and was here for that tension!
