Summary
Mrs. D is an alcoholic, albeit a very nice, respectable, articulate, and groomed alcoholic.
This is an honest, upfront, relatable account of one suburban housewife's journey from miserable wine-soaked boozer to self-respecting sober lady.
This audiobook is an inspirational tale of self-transformation, addiction, and domesticity. This audiobook lays out the entirely unexpected solo journey Mrs. D took in the first year of her sobriety and reveals the incredible online support that came through on her confessional blog, a blog intended to be a private online diary but turned into something else quite remarkable.

fabulous
Down to earth story of a woman's struggle to battle alcohol addiction. A story that anyone who drinks at all can relate too.

So relatable
Thank you Mrs D for a very honest and real book. Most memoir type books stop when the person gets sober, this being your starting point made your books among the best quit lit I have read or listened to.

A great read ( listen)
Loved listening to this woman’s experience of living without daily wine. At first struggled with the accent of the person reading but it is about a New Zealander so I just had to get over it and the content fortunately made the effort worth it. Some lovely descriptions of what it’s like to live a new life without wine making you fuzzy.

Finally a book I can relate to!
I have desperately been trying to stop drinking and have searched Audible for a good book to listen to paying for many with my monthly credit - only to be disappointed. After deciding not to buy another and search for something included in my plan I downloaded this book and have not stoped listening. Lottas love for wine and internal mental battle with herself and alcohol is so familiar, finally a book I can relate to that is giving me hope that if such a lush as Lotta can get rid of the poison then so can this lush 💗

Rather dull
This was much more about her blog and how it became successful than anything else. It just didn’t inspire me

I enjoyed this book
I enjoyed this book. Although is wasn’t very “deep”, it tackled the actual real reasons behind any addiction, not just drinking. It might seem obvious to say that addictions are just ways of avoiding / dealing with difficult emotions, but it’s the truth! Regardless of how you spin it! So well done to the author for being likeable and truthful.
