About this listen
From the universe of the Until the End of the World series. (Note: The City Series can be heard before or after the Until the End of the World series)
Sylvie Rossi has the loner thing down pat, with the exception of her best friend, Grace. But when the two are trapped in a hospital during the last gasp of a dying city, alone time is no longer an option. A nurse's offer of sanctuary promises Sylvie the supplies she needs to survive the zombies - it's the coexisting with people that might do her in.
Eric Forrest will do whatever it takes to get into the dead city for his sister, including ending up dead himself. He's used to taking risks, but with every mile he travels death looks likelier and likelier, and finding his sister may be his only prospect for survival - if he can make it home.
Sylvie doesn't need more than food, water, and shelter. Eric wants only to find his sister. But sometimes what we think we need isn't what we need at all, and what we find is more than we expected.

Brilliant performance

Great story - great characters - and really excellent performances from Luke Daniels and Therese Plummer. They bring the characters to life. I was so pleased to find that books 2 and 3 exist - and are narrated by the same two. That's another 45 hours or so of this story.
Excellent Post-Apocalyptic Story

What I did not like are the internal dialogues of the female character…the oh I am not good enough, oh no one will like me, how can they like poor little me. I found this odd with the obviously strong outer character. Another thing that annoyed me was that the heroines were all tall slim and basically gorgeous ….. unless you were an older woman and then you were more homely. I do not know why all the main female characters have to be tall and willowy or petite, sensitive and need looking after it just turns into stereotypical writing. If we look around the general population there are many chubby women that would survive the apocalypse, not just because we have enough fat stores to out live some of the willowy types but also because we are already used to fighting the stereotype that all fat women must be lazy and nasty and therefore have a to of pent up anger…….
Anyway you could stop after listening to this book, but I already had the second so I went straight to it.
I was surprised, I liked it.
