About this listen

A bad business deal.

An unfaithful husband.

A hacked computer.

A sick child.

A death - but was it?

Those are the things that take Kat and Blaine to the Caribbean. Some people think it’s a great place for a vacation, but as they quickly find out, it’s not just tropical drinks and sitting in the sun.

If someone wants to get lost in the islands, it can be pretty hard to find them. Good thing there’s a pit bull and a fast speedboat to help.

This is the eighth book in the Midwest Cozy Mystery Series by two-time USA Today best-selling author Dianne Harman.

This is a light hearted easy cozy mystery to get lost in. The story does jump around to different characters at the start of the book and you do wonder how they are all connected but by the end of the story it all comes together nicely. The characters were like able and the story was a nice mix of mystery and home life, I especially liked Florence's love for the goat on a family outing. The island life was fun to listen to and the author paints a picture with her words, so it was very easy to imagine yourself there to. This is book 9 in the series but the first book to be available on audible and I hope the rest of the series finds it way to audio too as a number of previous cases are mentioned and I would like to find out more about Kat's life.
A message left at a wake sends the grieving widow to seek out help from Kat. The note claims her husband death needs a closer look at. The father of four died in a white water rafting accident and the widow fears that her husband might still be out there somewhere with a head injury that his preventing him from remembering his family. Can Kath find out the truth behind the note or is she putting her families lives in danger? A clue leads Kat and her family in to taking a working holiday, to soak up the sun, surf and find answers on a paradise island. After a high speed boat chases the slow life of the island might not be for everyone.
I liked the narrator and babysitters thought she did a very good job with voices, especially the ones needing accents.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
