Story
Women are rarely cold-blooded killers. But when famous philanthropist Hugo Fletcher is found dead, there is no doubt in anybody's mind that the killer is a woman. And it is clear from the precision of the planning that this was no crime of passion. It was an execution. The victim was revered the world over for his charitable work with trafficked Eastern European prostitutes, and as at least one of these girls is missing, Detective Chief Inspector Tom Douglas is certain that there has to be a connection.

My one goal in life was to be a mother - to have a family - and in my little curly-haired Evie and my husband, Seb, I got everything I ever wanted. He and I trusted each other completely. There was only one thing Seb didn’t know about me - and if he ever found out, I knew that would be the end of our life together. Then the calls started. "You destroyed my life. Now I’m going to destroy yours." At first I hoped it was a prank. Then, I was terrified that the one person who knows my secret had found me.

Summary
I know who took my daughter. Only his mother can help me....
My little girl’s room is dark. Her bed is empty. I turn on her unicorn nightlight and bury my face in her pillow, my heart breaking.
I know who did this. His name is Samuel Barlow. He has pale sallow skin and red-rimmed icy-blue eyes. But no one will listen.
As darkness falls and rain lashes against the window, there’s a knock at my door and I open it to see those same eyes staring back at me. It’s his mother and she says she can help me find my daughter.
My gut feeling says don’t trust her.
But as hopes of finding my little girl fade with each passing hour, how can I turn away?
A completely gripping and twist-packed listen from the number one best-selling author K.L. Slater. If you like Liane Moriarty and Lisa Jewell you will be totally hooked on Missing.

Entertaining
Entertaining although some of the narration was odd and often I didn’t know who was speaking. The ending was interminable! Every time I thought it had to be over there was yet another chapter (constantly inducing eye rolls), much of which was extremely repetitive, padded or added nothing and that spoiled it for me.

Gripping but slow
Some of the details of the characters are repeated multiple times and some parts of the story drag on a bit long but the twist is remarkable and I could not stop listening and had to finish it in one go!

Another great book
Great storyline as usual but KL Slater. The narrator’s accents were terrible though. Most of this author’s books are set around the Nottinghamshire area which has a very distinct accent. Everyone who was ‘local’ sounded like a farmer from Yorkshire and it was a bit ridiculous to be honest. Otherwise, a great listen.

predictable
I did listen all the way through but found the plot twists too contrived and unbelievable. No sympathy with any of the characters. They were all flawed. Clearly the plan! Easy to work out who had shut little Jimmy in the fridge so too predictable. Narrator ok apart from when doing male voices.

Depressing, slow and tedious
I have enjoyed a few of KL Slaters audio books, so was so disappointed with this one.. I really struggled to get to the end! I had to listen to it on double speed because it was so tedious and miserable! I really wish I’d just given up and returned it, but I was hoping it would pick up. Sadly it didn’t at all.. definitely don’t recommend

Good so far but…
Always love KL Slater’s books on Audible, but I was sad to see, or hear rather, that Lucy Price-Lewis wasn’t the narrator!!

Just started
I’m very disappointed that Lucy price Lewis is not the narrator for this one. I was waiting to read on my kindle until the audible version was released just for that reason. I just started so we’ll see how it goes. I know the book is gonna be amazing (I own all of KL Slaters books) she’s an amazing author. Will update when I’ve finished.
Ok, so I finally finished and gotta say that I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the others. It was good but maybe would’ve enjoyed more if I read myself rather than listening. I wasn’t a fan of the narrator.

I’ve listened to all of the available K. L. Slater books, and they always throw you for a loop at some point. But this book was by far the best! So many twists a turns! I was on the edge of my seat. LOVED IT!
