About this listen

Now a number one best seller!

Number one in Women's Divorce Fiction.

Number one in Women's Action and Adventure Fiction.

Number one in Women's Fantasy Fiction.

Over the hill, all outta ducks to give, and suddenly life is looking up...even if you're living with a ghost and fighting off werewolves.

Moving back to Savannah changed my life in all the best ways. New job. New friends. As far from my ex-husband as possible.

I didn’t count on the Shadow World intensifying its hold on my life.

Color me surprised, when a new job lands in my lap watching over a fairy ring. Worth ten times what I’d make anywhere else, it seems too good to be true. I take it anyway.

And that’s when things get weird.

Spells are cast on my friends that seems to make them lose their marbles.

I’ve got a Bigfoot baking in my kitchen.

And a skeleton is quickly becoming my go-to guy. Which is silly because the eye candy strutting around in front of me is drool worthy. (I’m looking at you, Crash. Really looking 0_0).

Nothing in Savannah is what it seems, and the magic and undercurrents of this city are pulling me onto a dangerous path.

But with a Fae Queen begging my help, and the darkness closing in, I can only do one thing.

Pop a couple Advil, and kick some serious ducking butt.

as a light read, this is delightful, and very cleverly written. The characterisation is extremely well done and the story carries them along. The characters are the main focus of the book, and often seem deliciously real.
The narrator is hilarious and carries along the light hilarity and characterisation extremely well.

highly entertaining

Even though I own this series on Kindle when I was offered a free copy of the audiobook for my honest review I jumped at the chance to listen to it.
As it turned out I enjoyed listening to Lauren Fortgang bringing the story to life so much more than I enjoyed reading the book and I’d thoroughly enjoyed every page when i’d read it.
I’m not here to tell you what happens in the book, i’m sure others will do that, or you can read the blurb.
I want to tell you that In my opinion, it’s a winning combination of Shannon Mayer’s ability to write a great story, and Lauren Fortgang’s ability to bring that story to life that makes for a perfect listen, the narrator made the men sound like men, each voice different and distinct from the other, and again each woman sounded different to the others, which you’re thinking is as it should be, and yes it should, but believe me, as someone who has bought nearly 300 audiobooks that’s not always the case.
I enjoy listening to audiobooks, they entertain me when i’m alone driving, doing the ironing, cooking, gardening, and working my way through all the other monotonous daily/weekly chores, and I know this book will be one that I will listen to again and again.

Another great series from Shannon Mayer
