Took a bit of getting used to but once you get your head around who’s who, it’s very entertaining. Georgette at her best.

This Heyer story was ultimately very enjoyable but due to its plot, which involved people dressing up and pretending to be members of the opposite sex, it took a bit of understanding at the start. So many names. Also the characters were not particularly appealing. The narrator was good and effortlessly dealt with the boy/ girl confusion. It was worth the trouble in the end.

Eleanor Yates did an excellent job, although one of the characters sounded like Margaret Thatcher

Performance was ok bar a couple of characters whose ‘voices’ just grated slightly. One made to sound inane.
