I read this as my wife is considering going for the jab. I wanted to understand the drugs more, to better support her. In fact I left with a better understanding of just how difficult diet control is for her. I don’t have a problem with food so my default has always been “just stop eating so much. It is as simple as calories in, calories out”. Of course that did nothing to support or help her - the opposite. I now have deeper understanding of the how food and comfort controls the mind and body. I am immediately more compassionate and understanding. Brilliant. Finally, we have a fairly good diet with a smattering of junk food. After reading this I suspect you will think twice about eating processed food.

I always enjoy Hari’s writing. The way he blends his experience into the subject always keeps me engaged! Worth listening to in 2024.

One of the hottest topics of the past few years and one not covered by many. Always well researched and delivered . SO many are using these drugs without a care of the long term effects which are also essential for diabetics. Do the benefits outweigh any possible long term effects, that’s a very personal decision for many.

I really enjoyed listening to Johann Hari's book. It was easy to follow, and his narration was superb. The book offers an honest, personal perspective on a topic that has sparked controversy, shame, and serious health risks—not just for him, but for millions of ordinary people as well. He combines facts, personal stories, concerns, and real dilemmas surrounding the new 'miracle' weight loss drugs that have become a trend. I highly recommend it if you plan to use these drugs.
