Summary

Complete Space Opera Series boxed set.

A young explorer finds an alien space pod in the frozen tundra, which leads to an interplanetary chase and space battle.

Plenty of action, epic original worldbuilding, and enjoyable moments with colorful characters. This series has all the right elements for a terrific alien contact space opera. And the ending is both surprising and satisfying!

This boxed set contains all three books in the Lost Colony Uprising series:

Book 1: Starship Relic

Ancient technology. Secret histories. And squids. In space.

Max is completing a survey in the barren, frozen north of planet Grailliyn, when he makes a startling discovery. There's a high-tech pod buried beneath the ice, and inside the pod is a young woman. She speaks his language, but with a strange accent.

The two are barely past awkward introductions when they are attacked. Max and his new friend are forced to flee. The worst part? They don't even know who is trying to kill them, or why.

Now, with assassins on their tail, the duo must find a way off the planet without blowing their cover. And then, if they can do that without getting eaten by space monsters, they might just find out the truth about their world.

Starship Relic is book one of the Lost Colony Uprising Trilogy, a sci-fi space opera adventure with spaceships, alien contact, deep conspiracies, wise-cracking characters, and lots of pew-pew (space battle action).

Book 2: Starship Invasion

Alien threats. Planetary invasion. And space squids.

When Snow was a young girl, she was cautioned against pressing big red buttons of any kind. As a responsible crew member of Starship Longissima, Snow took this warning to heart.

Then she forgot that promise, along with everything about her former life. When she was found by Max, asleep in the ice, neither of them had any idea what destructive events were about to be set in motion.

Now the red buttons (big ones) have been pressed, and there will be tragic consequences.

The planet of Grailliyn is suffering an invasion on a global scale.

With limited resources at hand, Snow and her new allies must find a way to stop the annihilation, or, failing that, evacuate as many of their people as possible before abandoning the planet of Grailliyn to the enemy, forever.

Book 3: Starship Overlords

Ancient alien technology. Unlikely allies. And a chance to strike back.

The twin planets of Grailliyn and Mega are once again under threat.

A new menace has arrived. A fleet of alien warships.

While the Earthlings continue to evacuate Grailliyn, Commander Carrack must call for help, enlisting potential new allies.

Meanwhile, Max, Snow, and the crew of the Dee-Dub continue searching for Alien technology. Their mission turns up an ancient secret that could change everything.

At last, the Earthlings may have a chance to strike back against the evil Overlords that threaten the entire galaxy.

Starship Overlords is book three of the Lost Colony Uprising Trilogy, a sci-fi space opera adventure with spaceships, alien contact, deep conspiracies, wise-cracking characters, and lots of pew-pew (space battle action).

Content rating: All ages, teen and up. Minimal language.

Out of this world

Oh wow. With this book you get three great adventures in one excellent book. This book is very different to the normal genre (murder mysteries) I read or listen to but I fancied a change and gave this book a try. The cast of characters was fun and like able, I especially loved Dozer the pet crab that went every where with them. Expect lots of strange monsters and life and death situations for the hero's to get out of.
Starship Relic
In order for Max to become a man, like everybody in the world that has come before him, Max must first complete a survey. Instead of choosing a simple trip to warmer climates like his friends he chooses to recreate the journey that took his parents lives, with one exception he will complete it for them. All he has is his mother's journal to follow, camping gear and cold weather gear and his loyal team of crabs to pull the sleigh across the ice, other than that it is just him and the cold wilderness. That is until he comes across a strange object half buried in the ice and he would have missed that if it was for the flashing bright lights. After days of struggling to free form the hard packed ice someone comes out of no where and starts shooting at him. Taking the pod with him he embarks on an adventure he never thought possible and one that will take him over rough seas and even into outer space. All the while being hunted by a ruthless killer determined to kill him at any cost. The reason is the pod Max found wasn't empty and the girl that wakes up from a very deep slumber could contain lots of unanswered questions. Questions like what really happened to Max's parents? If only she could remember. Is her waking up from a deep sleep just luck or will it have a fairly tell ending.
Starship Invasion
This story jumps around as multiple characters give there perspective of what is happening before joining together. Snow , Max and Dozzer are missing from most of this part of the story as all the action takes place on Grailliyn and you are introduced to a new set of characters and aliens. I enjoyed this part the most and was continuously wondering who was going to make it and how they would get out of the trouble they were in. Then the story moves to outer space and even though I did enjoy it I found this part a little bit more confusing, lots of different names for things but still action packed. I loved the computer and the author giving her an attitude is highly amusing.
The planet of Grailliyn is suffering an invasion on a global scale, with thousands for people dying from the killer squid like creatures that are falling from the sky. Who will survive? And how can they fight back? Snow, Max and Dozzer are doing there part to help from space, by waking up everybody in the space pods. In order to build spaceships to transport people to other planets they need everybody's help but with limited resource and space madness that is inflicting the crew they will have there work cut out for them. With the annihilation of Grailliyan imminent it is a case of how many people can be saved and not how to save the planet Max once called home.
Starship Overlords
I found book two and three to be very different from the first part of this book, with most of the action taking place in space with aliens, were as the first book was on Grailliyn and the battles took place with its native creatures. They are just as good but more imagination is needed for the space exploits. This part of the story is also told by multiple characters but with so much action you will enjoy just as much.
Time is running out for Grailliyn as the evil Overlords alien invasion draws ever closer and this time they are not just sending giant squid like creatures. While some try to gain support from other planets, others try to evacuate the inhabitants of the planet and others still try to find factories or material to build ships but it is up to Max, Snow and there small group of hero's to end it once and for all by taking down the Overlord.
I like the narrator, especially his use of sound effects it really helped give the story another dimension and takes you out of this world.
