What did you like best about this story?

The characters were very well drawn. I really felt that I came to know Jessica as a strong, but real career woman.

Have you listened to any of Becky Hindley’s other performances? How does this one compare?

This is the first performance by Becky Hindley for me. She was excellent!

This was a great book. My first from this author, but certainly not my last. It was gripping and pacy from start to finish. The narration was also excellent. A very satisfying listen/read.

Somehow I guessed "whodunnit" early on but have been proved wrong in the past. It is possible I have read too many thrillers and wonder exactly what it is that makes a thrilling read? The big difference in this book was that the police chief turned out to be supportive and gave praise. I liked the main character although, again, the feisty sweary girlie cop theme could wear thin. I know this is a first of a series but don't know if I would try another one. But then again.................

For me there is too much process in this book. Although there is quite a bit of action it is over-powered by the detail.
