Critic reviews

“David Wood has done it again. Within seconds of opening the book, I was hooked. Intrigue, suspense, monsters, and treasure hunters. What more could you want? David's knocked it out of the park with this one!” (Nick Thacker, author of The Enigma Strain)

“A page-turning yarn blending high action, Biblical speculation, ancient secrets, and nasty creatures. Indiana Jones better watch his back!” (Jeremy Robinson, author of SecondWorld)

“Dane and Bones.... Together they're unstoppable. Rip roaring action from start to finish. Wit and humor throughout. Just one question - how soon until the next one? Because I can't wait.” (Graham Brown, author of Shadows of the Midnight Sun)

I enjoy the narration of Jeffrey Kafer

We start of a German u boat being attacked and sunk. Years later Dane and Bones find themselves joining a journalist and a cryptid hunter, looking for lost treasure in Scotland. We find a well known monster Nessie. So the group are guarding being chased by a members of an ancient sect looking for the same treasure.

Overall I enjoyed another Dane & Bones adventure, but this one just had elements that didn’t really hit the mark for me. Also, one of the characters is meant to be the “annoying tag along” but they were too annoying and you genuinely reach a point where the thought of them meeting an untimely end is appealing. Will be interesting to see where the story goes beyond this book, so if you enjoy the series then I’d say it’s worth a listen.

Good but not the greatest in the series
