Welcome return to the limitless lands

While the previous series of limitless lands books ended strongly, it always felt like the world that the author had created had plenty of room for more stories to come from it too, so I was very interested to see how well this new series would work. The basic premise to setup this series is fairly similar to the previous one, the differences leading very logically to the new setting for this series in a manner that makes sense rather than feeling contrived.

The performance of the narrator is, as always, very distinctive and helps to bring these new characters to life very quickly, the only slight downside to the distinctive performance is that one or two voices sound familiar to those in previous books, but that also shows how memorable they became.

Overall, it is great to return to the world of the limitless lands with a new cast and new setting, now there is just the issue of waiting for book two to arrive.

Another excellent book

I was lucky enough to receive a review code for this book. Dean Henegar has delivered again with the excellent Jack Voraces bringing his characters to life. The world building continues from the solid base provided by the first series, with another challenging medical case that requires immersion in this virtual world. The setting as a sea captain is quite different from the previous series, and the main character is somewhat darker.

it's a great return to the limitless land/seas I loved following raytak's story and Larson's is off to a strong start bring on book 2

An amazing addition to the Limitless lands.

Yet again Dean Heneger has out done himself! Can't wait to see this new MC meet the existing group of characters from the previous limitless lands stories.

But this time its maritime action time. very nice and refreshing with new area of operations and amusing new Mc.

A great addition to the limitless lands world!

Disclaimer, I got this as a free review copy, but would have paid if I hadn't.

This is the second "series" in limitless lands, and while it can be read on it's own, I would suggest reading series 1 first(and it's awesome, so no loss there).
The book follows a somewhat similar origin as the first series, and is somewhat slow to start, but well done as a whole.
This is set in a aquatic/boat setting and follows that idea quite nicely, with some minor "base building" as the boat gets improved.

Audio by Jack voraces was great as usual.

Slow progressing with a decent story to share

This is my first dig into the Limitless series. I have not had the pleasure of reading Limitless Lands, but that is no issue for the story and you can easily start this series without even having heard of the previous one.

Unfortunately, I'd argue that this is a very softcore LitRPG. The interactions between our main character and the system is often limited, and the way the story is told, often feels odd and forced. Larsson describes himself this problem perfectly: "He had almost forgotten this aspect of his life", where he refers to the game system. The story therefore takes on more of the genre of a pirate fantasy novel. This quote was taken half way through the book. The story of the book unfolding slowly - really slowly, which makes you as a reader go: "Why do I even care for this person? Why am I interrested in following his story?" 🤔

Another thing you keep asking yourself is: When will Larsson meet other players? Is this person a player or an NPC? Theres no differentiation between the two for a long while, leaving you asking once again; is this really a LitRPG?

Jack Voraces voices the characters and does a decent job in switching between the different set of characters available. One thing that again confuses me more, than it adds to the story, is the wide - and I do mean wide- range of accents. Jamacian, Texan, Piratey, e.g.. The list goes on. Even close family members of the main characters dont share a familiar accent. This breaks immersion at several points, until you get used to the incredibly wide mix of accents. I might be biased from playing WoW, but I'd argue that Orcs would not talk with that heavy a Jamaican accent.

Overall, a decent story, but not amazing.
