About this listen

Larson has returned victorious from his battle with the pirates, but his quest to carve out his place in this new world is far from over. His respite from battle will be a short one as politics, creatures from the deep, pirates, and more will push him, the Sea Venom, and his crew to their limits.

The forces arrayed against Larson are powerful, but he has a few tricks up his sleeve. A lifetime of naval service and a glimmer of knowledge from his old life on Earth will give him a powerful new weapon that just might turn the tide in his favor. With a loyal crew and a ship that is more than it seems, Larson stands ready to face all who stand in his way.

I've appreciated the world of Limitless Lands since the first book and I think Jack has done a great job narrating the series. Naturally, it carries over to this spin-off series. While similar in spirit and writing to the original series it takes a different approach going deeper into the world and character building as well as shifting the scale and the perspective. I loved the book and I am looking forward to future books in the series. My only gripe with this instalment is that it takes certain aspects and elements from the Derelict series and I am not sure how I feel about it yet - will have to see where it goes in book 3.

A promising sequel
