As always, the author’s writing style is wonderful. She writes in a relaxed, detailed, and very entertaining way.
You know those books you just can’t put down because they’re so incredibly gripping? This one definitely falls into that category!
Levi and Chari are two likable characters who spent a steamy night together—a night with consequences. Chari had never planned to tell Levi about it until her daughter’s life was threatened and she saw no other way out. I almost felt a little sorry for Levi when his daughter called him “Daddy” and he realized just how much time he’d already missed with her. But now they both have a common goal: to eliminate the threat and protect their daughter. And Jules is pretty cute!
There’s plenty of action and thrills, pure suspense, but also a lot of emotion. Chari is an incredibly strong woman who generally gets by just fine without a man in her life. But now she’s reached a point where she sees only one way out.
Levi is very protective when it comes to his loved ones. Together, the two of them are an explosive combination with amazing chemistry—as a reader or listener, you can feel it right away.
The plot is entertaining and gripping, and I listened to the audiobook almost in one sitting. I was completely on the edge of my seat rooting for the two of them, and guys, there were some super-exciting scenes, as well as the occasional steamy scene.
And anyone who’s read the previous books will be happy to see Levi’s brothers and their wives again.
The audiobook was narrated by Andi Eloise and Tor Thom, and both did a fantastic job. They both have pleasant voices and brought the story to life by brilliantly capturing the emotions and effectively conveying the plot. Tor Thom shines as Levi just as much as Andi Eloise does as Chari.
