Great read

This book was captivating from the first page to the last. I didn't see the tv series but having read this book would love to watch it. I only hope there is another book as there are a number of story lines that need concluding.

Good story

What a fabulous narrator, she really brought this to life. Can't wait to read the rest in the series.

Great story

Story is good ,narrative is very poor, frustrating to have to continually adjust the volume every time the narrator went into whisper mode really spoilt a good storyline.

The reader spoilt a really lovely stort

the reader kept dropping her voice so low in parts that you could not hear what she was saying - this was really annoying as I had to either whack the volume up or rewind to be able to hear what was being said. not sure if this was for dramatic effect or a technical issue. nonetheless irritating and jarred the storyline.
the story itself is lovely- really enjoyed it.

Love Home Fires!!

Loved Home Fires on TV and wanted to know what happened so was glad when I found this. Couldn’t stop listening and getting submerged into the lives of the women of Great Paxford.

This was so good, I loved the TV series and was so annoyed when it was cancelled, the book took me straight back there and every scene played out in my head - I hope there will be more
