Story
"I’m kind of a lady, but definitely more of a weirdo." Hearing the woman at the table behind him say that to her friend should’ve turned Logan Gibbs off. It doesn’t. In all honesty, it only makes him listen harder. He’s had enough weird in his life to last a lifetime. The last thing his complicated life needs is a woman in it who has no clue what color you get when you mix yellow and blue together. Yet, her obvious blonde moments aren’t enough to deter him. Nor is her lack of finger-painting skills.

His Wranglers fit him like a glove. A really tight, leaving nothing to the imagination, glove. Codie wants nothing more than to shove that Wrangler-covered butt straight into the mud. Ace Valentine has a smart mouth, a devil-may-care attitude, and those wicked eyes aimed directly at her. She doesn't know what to do with that kind of attention. Especially not from the sweet-talking man that has no problem charming every woman that enters his orbit - everyone but her, at least.

Luke Roberts came to the small, lazy town of Kilgore, Texas, with one thing on his mind: forgetting. He wanted to forget why he left. Forget those emerald green eyes that haunted his dreams. And forget how it felt to have his heart ripped out of his chest by a woman who didn't like the fact that he had a child. It was something he'd been doing a damn fine job of doing, too. Until Reese smashed through every one of his defenses and made him feel again.

She makes Sebastian want to break every single rule he'd ever implemented. Hell, but she even makes him consider that dreaded H word. A helmet. Summary
Let’s do a calendar, they said. It’ll be fun, they said.
Well, they - i.e., Kilgore Police Department’s public relations specialists - were wrong.
Now, every time Dax Tremaine walks around a corner, the women of Kilgore, Texas, can’t help calling him Mr. January.
Mr. January, can you fix my flat tire? Mr. January, can you cuff me? Mr. January, can you sign my boob?
It goes from bad to worse when even on a SWAT call, the women won’t stay away.
It was the worst time of her life. Rowen Roberts had finally admitted to herself that the man she loved would never love her back. She was just fired from her job for violating client confidentiality, and to make matters worse, she’s held up at gunpoint in a convenience store where she only wanted some ice cream to help mask the pain.
The moment the gun is pressed to her forehead, she knows she has a decision to make. Follow the rules and maybe possibly live, or go down swinging where at least she can salvage just a little bit of her dignity.
And when Mr. January himself tells her to do what the gunman says, she’s had enough. Rowen has never really been a girl that does what she’s told. Mr. January won’t have to save her. She can dang well save herself.

The Summary is wrong
So I am a big LLV fan so I don't like writing reviews that are not very nice. Let me start by saying, the summary does not match the story. I feel like I missed something somewhere. In the prologue, she is out with people from work and she does in fact get her heart broken by the man she think shes in love with. Then we go right into chapter 1 where she is in her dad's office crying about losing her job and being held at gunpoint. I even went back to see if I missed something in the prologue because these events didnt even take place in the book. Regardless, supposedly she is in a convenience store and she has a gun to her head and Mr. January is supposedly there telling her to listen to the gunman. well that's not possible because he is in fact in Kilgore on the other side of the door listening to Rowan tell her dad about the incident and he wasnt even there. I really do wish that incident would have been written into the story because I would have been more than excited to read that. I am not familiar with either of the narrators. The male narrator wasnt too bad, so I gave him the stars. I didn't care for the female narrator at all so I didn't give her any stars. her voice was just unpleasant and whiny. The story was decent enough but the summary needs to be revised because I was expecting a different story. There wasnt a single incident in the book where Rowan is told how to act and she rebelled and went against someone's wishes or commands.

SO, SO SORRY
I have listened to every book available on Audible written by LLV and have loved them all. She is one of my all time favorite authors. However, this one was ruined by the narrators. I had to actually concentrate hard, as if I was listening to an incomprehensible educational manual, for this book to keep my attention. I also had to quit and listen to something else (twice) in order to talk myself into going back to finish. Narrators can certainly destroy a story if they aren't good narrators. In my opinion, audio books should be performed, not just narrated. These two did not perform, and sorely disappointed. I will be asking for my money/credit back which will be a first for me with this author. So sorry Ms. Vale even though the storyline was good, these two narrators just didn't work for me.

Loving this series!
This series tells the stories of the kids of KPD SWAT and it is great catching up with the parents and seeing the, now grown, kids find their HEA. This is the story of Luke’s 2nd daughter, Rowan, and Dax, son of Max from another series. Rowan has just graduated from law school and passed the bar. She is ready to ‘adult’, which includes a relationship. Unfortunately, the guy that she’s had her eye on treats her like a sister...THEN, wait for it, starts dating her arch nemesis! When Ro is not hired permanently at the law firm at which she interned, she cuts her losses and heads back to Kilgore. She meets Dax when she goes to visit her father, now Chief of Police. The attraction is palpable but is Ro ready? Dax has some baggage from his teens that may come between them. There are lots of fun moments, some ex drama and finally an HEA.

Really good story
The story was amazing, as usual for this amazing author! However, both narrators seemed stiff, somewhat awkward through out. It did take away from the story for me.

Narration leaves a lot to be desired
I LOVE this series! I have read, and re-read these books on my iPad, but decided to listen to them while a work. The male narrator isn't that bad, but the female is BAD. I hope the other books in this series have better narration or I might have to skip listening to them. 🙁

excessive and unnecessary profanity
Story line was okay and narration was good, but I just couldn't finish the book due to the excessive profanity. I'm not a prude and some profanity is ok, but every single character from the 8 year old child to the grandmother couldn't get through 2 lines of dialog without an f***ing this or an f***ing that. So unnecessary and distracting.

The narration was terrible.
This was a cute story but the narration totally spoiled it for me. My recommendation would be to purchase the book and read it instead of the audiobook.

I couldn't even finish the book.
The female reader sounded like she was shivering the whole time and read extremely slow. I tried speeding it up but then would have to put it back to regular speed when the male reader came on. I love the author just don't like Robyn Verne's reading.

Excellent Story, Poor Narration
The story was great. The natrators were very stilted and I would have quit after the first hour or so except that the story pulls you in and you have to finish it.
