Summary
The last man I dated... ended up dead.
Jen is a normal, single woman living in a big city. By day, she's a receptionist and by night, she goes on dates. Lots of dates. Because Jen knows if she is going to find true love, it's a numbers game.
All of Jen's dates end with the same crushing sense of disappointment and she finds herself silently uttering those five familiar words: 'It's not me, it's you.'
But now it seems Jen is more than just unlucky in love. The police have knocked on her door with some questions for her.
The last five people she went on dates with have been murdered. And Jen is their prime suspect.
As she fights desperately to prove her innocence, she must ask herself, who would have a motive to kill those five people? And if the only thing connecting them is her, will she be next?
An absolutely gripping and addictive psychological thriller with a killer twist you won't see coming. Fans of K.L Slater, Sue Watson and Netflix's You will be totally hooked from the first page until the final, breath-taking conclusion.

Mrs. McCormack loved this!
A fantastic choice of narrator for this great story gives it a truly authentic 'Northern' feel. I enjoyed all of the references to creativity, art and gallery visits. I'm looking forward to reading more from Charlotte Bigland.

Unexpected pleasure of a top notch thriller
Yet again I was dubiously perusing the murder mystery thrillers in search of something to keep me going until my next pre-order was released and I came upon this little beauty.
It grabbed me from the get go and was just so superbly written that I could tell I was in safe hands and in for an excellent adventure.
I liked the protagonist Jen and loved the way that she just plunged in and did the very tempting but wrong thing so many times.
It was funny, touching and gave an interesting insight into living in London which I enjoyed so much as many years since I last visited and it brought it all back to me. Loved also the side theme of dating and twenty something life
The plot was excellent - so very many twists and turns and had me completely fooled so many times.
Perhaps the reveal was a little far fetched but it was a helluva ride to get there so I was happy to suspend disbelief just a bit after such an intriguing and absorbing mystery.
Narration was great and all in all it was a 5 star experience, sad its over now but I am really excited to have found another superbly talented author and seamless story teller to add to my list of favourites.
Can't wait for the next Charlotte Bigland thriller, as this really was such a 5 star treat.

Author & Narrator create incredible world
This is the type of audiobook you just disappear into and come up for air at the end, knowing the characters and world will stay with you.
There’s something about being a northerner in London that’s quite hard to explain, and Charlotte Bigland does this perfectly, WHILST creating a slowly boiling thriller.
Rebecca Tebbett narrates the protagonists and all the potential antagonists with unbelievable skill. I often hesitate to listen to fiction on audiobook, because so much lies on the narrator’s ability. Tebbett gives you absolutely nothing to worry about.
I think making a thriller/crime novel funny, relevant and modern is no mean feat - and It’s Not Me It’s You has succeeded beautifully.

Great debut novel
Very well written novel. Although not exactly what I usually listen to it was engaging, entertaining and a great change. The characters are believable and relatable.
I really liked the local and cultural references and thought that the narrator was perfect in bringing the book to life.
All in all would highly recommend and I am looking forward to the next book.

Teesside on tour
Great story, keeps you gripped throughout, helped along hugely by the lovely northern tones of the narrator. I look forward to hearing more from this voice over artist!
