About this listen
If you're looking for a pause-resisting listen, don't miss this action-packed Amazon best-selling romantic suspense novel.
The day my life took an inevitable detour things got a little crazy.
My name is Essalin Brant, but everyone calls me Essa. I attend a small college in a tiny town, and in my 22 years of life I've never even traveled outside the state of Pennsylvania. You could say my life is pretty boring. I live by the rules. I'm a good girl and nothing exciting ever happens.
But that's all about to change.
Enter Farren Shaw. Not only is he older and intimidating, but he's more sure of himself than any 29-year-old man has a right to be. Did I mention that he's drop-dead gorgeous? Well, he is. He also happens to be my best friend Haven's brother. And I would be content with just fantasizing about Farren from afar, but when Haven suddenly goes missing, her gorgeous brother is the only one who believes me when I say she was abducted, even though all signs seem to suggest Haven left town willingly.
I know better, though. As does Farren. So when he asks me to accompany him to search for his sister, I accept.
That's when the real adventure begins.
Our quest to find Haven takes us across the country. And throughout the time we spend together, I find myself falling for Farren...falling hard. He's everything I've ever wanted. But is he really someone I should fear?
Because aside from making me feel things I've never felt before, Farren is hiding something. Something big. What could this stunning man be keeping from me? And why? Is Haven's disappearance somehow connected to his mysterious job?
All I know is that things are about to get real.
Welcome to the Inevitable Detour that has become my life.

Keira Stevens is a fabulous narrator. I think the writing style of S.R. Grey also has something to do with it, as I just listened to another book narrated by Ms. Stevens and this one was more impressive. She did a great job bringing the story to life.
The epilogue has a cliffhanger ending, but it does warn at the start of the epilogue that it's an intro to the next book so you could easily skip the epilogue if you want to avoid the cliffhanger. Overall, I'm interested in listening to more of the series.

Keira Stevens performed this book amazingly. Her easy to listen to voice, grabbed my attention from the first chapter and did not let go until the end.Keira brought out all the emotions and angst in this story. Through her narration, this story came to life. I look forward to hearing more from Keira Stevens.
One suspenseful story you do not want to miss

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

I enjoyed the dynamic between Essa and Farron.
The twists and turns were good, although I figured them out before they were revealed.
*Spoiler*
Ends on a cliffhanger. I’m not a fan of those.
Really liked it.

Heroine is Essa. Hero is Farren.
Essa and Farren meet when Essa best friend and Farren sister Haven goes MIA . Essa and Haven were at a party when they let 2 well dressed men take them home only because both ladies were drunk . Essa allowed one of the men to give her aspirin , she thought it was aspirin , when Essa wakes up she knows she was drugged and Haven was taken . Essa and Farren start to look for her. It helps because Farren was in Special Ops . Grab it and see do Essa and Farren find Haven , why was she taken . Do Essa and Farren make a go of it
Keira Stevens Performance was great . Her voice was strong , clear , and smooth.
