Eric didn't ask to be a vampire. In fact he didn't even believe in them. Biting your own tongue with your fangs does a lot of convincing. Even so, being a part-time undead isn't as easy as you might think. It can let you hold down a day job, true, but sometimes the night "life" can be more than a little difficult, what with those bloodthirsty urges and predatory instincts kicking in.

Eh... Trying Too Hard to Shock Listener
- By Queen of Swords on 22-03-20
Summary
Indian Hill is about an ordinary boy who grows up in relatively normal times but who finds himself thrust into an extraordinary position. Growing up in suburban Boston, Michael enjoys the trials and tribulations that all adolescents go through, from the seemingly tyrannical mother, to girl problems, to run-ins with the law. From there he escapes to college out in Colorado with his best friend, Paul, where they begin to forge new relationships with those around them. It is one girl in particular that has caught Michael's eye, and he alternately pines for her and laments ever meeting her.
It is on their true "first" date that things go strangely askew. This is where the story truly takes a paranormal twist. Mike soon finds himself captive aboard an alien vessel, fighting for his very survival. The aliens have devised gladiator-type games. The games are of two-fold importance for the aliens: one is their entertainment value, and the other is that the aliens want to see how combative humans are, what our weaknesses and strengths are. They want to better learn how to attack and defeat us. The battles are to the death on varying terrains that are computer-generated.
Follow Mike and Paul as they battle for their lives and try to keep the US safe, in the first book of Mark Tufo's Indian Hill series.

Why does Mr Tufo keep re-releasing old books?
this is the second time I've purchased a book that I already own that has been repackaged and called a new book. Why does audible keep allowing this to happen as well? Even the publisher summary was incorrect and made it seem like it was a completely new book. If I already own this book why doesn't audible say that I already have purchased it like they do for every other book in a series?

One of my Favorites!!!!
I, like many others, came across this book after Zombie Fallout. This was my first space type book that I read and I was hesitant. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! I love Michael Talbot and he is even funnier and sarcastic in this series. I think I would be even more terrified if the events in this book happened.

Take A Pass On This One
I hate to admit it but this book did me in. The overall story intrigued me for its Hunger Games, meets Gladiator, Meets V story adaptation. EDIT- I honestly tried to write a review for this book and I couldn't do it. There is so much wrong with this book that I cannot continue with the series. It is seldom that I am brought to the point of returning a book, but this one made that list. If you are into brutalizing women, huge plot holes, poorly executed continuity of the story, then this book is for you. Enjoy. The narration is very good, but the story is very convoluted. I could go on about how the Hero never has to bear the pain of having one of his women hung up in humiliation as an "if you win you get her" trophy while all of his opponent's women are. It made no sense. The over the top teenage porn/sadomasochist phantasy that is much of this story really undermined what could have been, had it benefited from a rewrite, an interesting story of human endurance, survival, and perseverance. But alas, the story is so convoluted as to seem as though it was written by several different writers of varying degrees of skill. While the beginning was well crafted, the middle to end was abysmal, in my opinion. This one book ruined the series for me. It killed my interest so profoundly that I can't continue with it. I found the book to be very depressing and not of my liking. You may enjoy it, and if you do, great. I, however, didn't. The author is a fine wordsmith and I know his later works are far better than this. This book would have benefitted from a complete rethink and rewrite. As it is now, take a pass. Use your credit on something else. I recommend Galaxy's Edge.

Mark Tufos work is great!
What a great ride! I’ve read all of Zombie Fallout and I love all of Michael Talbots adventures! This multiverse/alternate universe stuff is fascinating Tufo does an amazing job with suspense and horror. Although not as much horror as ZF, action packed and I highly recommend Indian Hill.

Tufo Rocks It Again!
I have recently discovered Mark Tofo's books and they have all been fantastic I believe the first books I read of his was the Zombie Fallout series which was also amazing. It's kind of strange because it has the same main character Michael Talbot, but just in another life or like a parallel universe of his. He seems to always be getting himself in all kinds of situations.
