Story
My whole life, I’ve been taught to despise shifters. So when I’m hired to track two escaped convicts, I’m suddenly thrust into the world I hate - or thought I did. Yet I’m inexplicably drawn to the alpha of the pack, whose land the convicts may be hiding on. He’s different than any shifter I've ever met - laidback and quick to laugh, caring, and protective. As secrets are revealed, I start to wonder if everything I’ve been raised to believe was a lie, though it may not matter, because it seems like someone wants us dead.

Though I was born with the ability to see the dead, I struggled with it until my brother was killed and his ghost was left behind. Now, I’m determined to figure out who is responsible for his death…the problem is that Detective Maddox Booker, the one working the case, is a grumpy and stubborn man who wants nothing to do with me and definitely doesn’t believe in ghosts. It doesn’t help that I keep finding myself looking ridiculous in front of the detective, thanks to interfering ghosts who enjoy laughing at my expense.

Summary
A Marine with honor.
After surviving a horrific chemical attack that turned him into a metahuman, Captain Jamie Callahan got a second lease on life. For three years he’s been working for the Metahuman Defense Force and leading Alpha Team - all against the wishes of his family. The job requires his full dedication, so it’s no surprise Jamie doesn’t have time for a relationship. An enticing one-night stand with a gorgeous stranger is all it takes to show Jamie exactly what he’s been missing. When a mission to take down a terrorist cell brings that same stranger back into his world, Jamie’s life gets complicated.
A soldier with secrets.
Staff Sergeant Kyle Brannigan was only looking to relieve some stress after a long mission. He didn’t know the hot guy he picked up at a bar was the leader of the MDF’s top field team. When Kyle and his partner get seconded to Alpha Team to help fight a terrorist threat, he has to balance his desire for Jamie against his duty to keep his secrets safe. That gets harder and harder to do amidst regulations both are tempted to break.
Two men trying to survive.
Giving into passion could cost both their careers. Abiding by the rules will only result in heartache. An attack on MDF headquarters brings with it a choice Jamie and Kyle can’t escape - duty, or love?

Awesome start to a addictive series
I highly recommend this if you like Marvel Agents of SHEILD and lots of hot MM erotica.
I often find it difficult to identify with a lot of SciFi but the clear world building and excellent characters made this a great book I became lost in right from the start. The whole concept of a bio weapon that kills almost all it comes in contact with, with the exception of those whose DNA interacts with Splice and transforms them into Metahumans giving each survivor a unique ‘superpowers’ is not that far fetched.
Fantastic action packed scenes with great choreography between all the characters.
The relationship between the two MC’s is Incredibly hot and the sex scenes are very descriptive and intense. Some of the hottest sex scenes I have heard.
This may be the hottest audiobook I have heard but with the story to back it up and who better to narrate it than Greg Boudreaux, he makes the numerous characters identifiable and his inflection and timing is perfect.
I can’t wait for the rest of the series to arrive on audiobook

Outstanding world building
Story: Wow! I was amazed at this story from the first minutes and the wonder is far from evaporating! The world building in this dystopian romance is truly outstanding! A complex story that takes root in environmental issues not far off from reality.
As to the romance part itself, it's sweet, sprinkled with just enough angst, and seasoned with a healthy dose of scorching heat! Brilliant writing! I see a series binge in my immediate future, as I cannot imagine having enough!
Narration: Great voice and very good performance. Emotional, easy to follow and just right for this book!

Very good Sci-fi Series
I'm not a sci-fi fan, so galloping all the way through this series said a lot about the author and the narrator. The story is full of super-powered action, in a future that has survived a chemical terrorist war where Splice is used to kill 99% of those within close radius of the bombs, and create meta humans as collateral damage. They are now the peace keepers and "Alpha Team" of international governments, although terrorist cells recruit some and turn them to the dark side!
MCs are Jamie Callaghan as the Captain of US A Team and Kyle Brannigan his secret lover and Sniper for the team. These two are seriously kinky and can indulge in their D&S preferences with abandon, considering Jamie is super strong and Kyle heals instantly. However, that's not the main story, the team characters and interactions are, with political and international machinations going on to weave a brilliant series of books (should be read in order). The series includes the stories of Kyle's adopted brother Alexei Dvorkin, and also their friend and colleague Liam Wessex, Jamie's counterpart in the UK.
I would recommend to anyone who loves a good super-power sci-fi romp, but also to those like me who don't usually touch this genre. There are heart-stopping moments and the torture scenes made me wince and skip a few sentences in places. Ms Turner's latest magical series is worth a mention also, although I must say 4-5 books in and I'm struggling to care much about the Gods theme, which just interferes with the magical and werewolf MCs and their ongoing turf wars.
Greg Boudreaux good value always, as narrator for the Meta Human series, emotional scenes had me in tears, sooo well done. The shorter spin off novellas of minor team members, are mainly on KU still I think.

Hardcore Porn, sprinkled with a little sci-fi.
The "Sci-fi, Meta-human" this novel is billed as, is merely fluff page filler between the extra graphic hardcore porn segments. I love a good gritty fetish porn as much as the next guy but... I never knew until now that it was possible to EXCESSIVELY overuse the word Cock. The Author used the word so much that I found myself skipping ahead so I wouldn't have to hear it beat into my ears over and over and over again.

Came for Greg Boudreaux
I am a fan of the narrator, and that's the main reason I picked up this title. I actually liked the non-romance plot of the story, and the narrator is brilliant as always. But I just got tired of all the sex scenes.
Me listening, looking at the play time in the app: Really? Another one? So they're just going to be having vigorous meta-human style sex for the next half hour?
I would listen to more of the series because the team was cool. I want stories about Katie and the others, so the author does well establishing the world. When an author introduces a team like this, I want to know about the entire team, not just the gay or straight ones. This author seems to be about the MM and not much else as she focuses on the romances of a pair of adopted brothers on the team.
If you like Greg, you know how awesome he is. If you need more than just Greg's awesome voice and want awesome content to go with it... rate your expectations accordingly to whether or not you can stand long, drawn out sex scenes that involve a lot of delayed orgasms. Wasn't my thing, but it could be yours.

Fantastic audio!
This series is one of my favorites, and I was so excited to hear Greg was going to record the audio as he is one of my favorite narrators. And man, he knocked it out of the park! This book is an excellent start to the Metahuman Files series, and Greg brought Alpha Team to life like only he could. Each character has a distinct voice and the accents are on point (Greg's Alexei.. yes please!). I found myself unable to stop listening, even though I have read the book several times before.. and I am sure I will be listening over and over too. I hope we get to experience the rest of the series in audio in the future.

In the Monogamy
The fun thing about this series centers around the variety of super powers the metahumans have, the interesting situations they find themselves in and the interplay of the characters around their missions.
But if you’re a gay man, you won’t find yourself reflected in these stories. Not only does the author have no idea what men do in bed together but judging by the banter of the characters in their private lives, I doubt the author even has any gay friends. After the first couple of sex scenes they’re all just variatons on the same theme. All of the men are strictly tops or bottoms easily placing them in the banal roles of stereotypically heterosexual relationships. While none of these characters would hesitate to shoot an enemy in the head, light them ablaze or blow them to bits, it would never occur to any of them to flip roles or bring in a third person to enjoy in the bedroom. Craving ownership of each other and jealousy are desirable qualities and getting that coveted engagement ring and that death till you part commitment is the be all and end all of their aspirations. Can you say Harlequin Romance? If you like your men white, clean shaven, smooth and all six packy, their depictions will appeal to you. No bears, beards or hairy chests here. Superimposing any diversity over what’s presented requires some real work from the listener. So why have I listened to the entire series? The answer is narrator Greg Bourdeaux. Such a terrific narrator! With more than 15 recurring characters, he finds a way to distinguish them all from each other, deftly covers accents, and brings authenticity to each personality. Since losing most of my eyesight I’ve listened to hundreds of audiobooks and Mr. Bourdeaux is at the top of the heap.

Metahuman Files #1
Great story with interesting world building and a terrific narration, this dual POV sci-fi romance hit all the bright spots for me from the characters, to the plot, to the final moments - it was all really, really good. There was also plenty of action, both out of and in between the sheets.
Then add it being a fun listen on top of everything else and you can color me happy. Greg Tremblay, under his Greg Boudreaux pseudonym (for sexier titles), keeps a wide array of characters easy to follow along with while making all the good parts even better.
I especially loved that the story doesn't have a cliffhanger ending, even though it definitely opens up a series.
I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series, In the Ruins.

I want to finish but I can't
The book started out really good but it soon began to go down hill. All there is, is sex then a battle then sex, then another battle and more sex. I need a story to go along with sex and that is just too much sex.

Awesome start to a new series
I loved this book. The team kind of reminds me of the Thirds in how they work together. They have all been through hell and are working to bring down all the bad guys. Loved that the team is backing them up as they grow and work on living together and finding love. Jamie and Kyle make a perfect couple. I can't wait for the next book in this series to come out in audio.

pretty good
Was a great story, love stories about super powers, especially if it got some super hot m/m in it! The action was well written and the sex super hot, really got to like all the charachters and the narration was spot on, Gret Boudreaux really brought this book to life

I love the entire series
They are some pretty explicit scenes if that's a problem for you. Hailey has created an intriguing world but I haven't quite figured out how they take so many showers if water is so dear.

Woah
The action parts are riveting and concise.
Definitely a cool alternative world to sink into.
The passion scenes though...I mean holy shit,
I am by no means a shrinking violet but I find myself flushing and holding on to every word.
If you can refrain from being a hypocritical puritan then you need to read or listen to this book.
