Summary

Second chances always come with a price.

Colonel Liam Wessex is happy to see Jamie Callahan and Kyle Brannigan finally married, but it leaves him wishing his own life wasn’t such a mess. With his classified identity revealed to the British public, Liam struggles with the transition into civilian life. When MI6 Agent Oliver Archer stumbles back into his world, Liam has a second chance to make things right between them, if only the prickly agent would let him close again.

Oliver thought he’d done enough to cut Liam out of his life for good after a disastrous night together during their youth. But when terrorists target London and Liam is called back to active duty, they’re forced to work together for the good of queen and country. Liam may not be the spoiled prince Oliver once knew, but that doesn’t make up for the heartache he caused.

Amidst royal engagements and clandestine missions, Liam and Oliver find themselves facing a threat that could tear them apart all over again.

This series is over my heart is broken, It introduced me to urban fantasy, and now it's left me alone in a genre with nothing left to read that is half as good.
Come back Alpha team I miss you!!!
Seriously though I loved this series kept me sane this year, I have to say I wasnt as fond of Colonel Liam Wessex, as I was alpha team, I can see why we needed this story to finish the series, and have the wedding. Which incidentally was way better than Prince Harry, and Meghan's which I DIDN'T watch, only the news highlights.
Kyle and Jamie best part of this book, wow (Sigh)
I dont know what i'm going to do now it's over..
On the plus side I have preordered the side books, for audible them will save the rest of my year.
Au revoir I hope Hailey Turner finds time to write a few more words about my favorite military peeps.

Oh please my heart is broken..

5+ Stars!

Into the Solace is book 6 in the Metahuman Files series and it needs to be read/listened to in order or you'll be missing out on one of the best Sci-Fi series I've ever read. If you haven't read any of the previous books, this review will contain spoilers, so proceed at your own risk.

The story is told from Jaymie, Kyle, Liam & Oliver's POVs, and even if the main focus is on Liam & Oliver and the mission in London to pursue Murphy, the head of the Reborn IRA, and Former CIA Deputy Director Carter Bennett, we also get to witness Jaymie and Kyle's wedding and part of their honeymoon, which was swoon-worthy and sweet. Of course, knowing Hailey Turner as I (and her fans) know her, it wouldn't stay schmoopy for long, would it? LOL

I loved Ollie and Liam. I could practically see the sparks every single time their paths crossed and not just when Ollie was still angry at Liam, the chemistry between them was undeniable and I just loved them together. I loved that Liam was so determined to apologize and make amends when he realized how badly he'd hurt Ollie with his actions so many years ago. I would've loved to see more of the transition from them being at odds to fully becoming lovers, but with everything else happening, it was understandable that that part was glossed over or the book would've ended being humongous, not that I would've minded. ;)

The book is action-packed, fast-paced, sexy, and emotional. It's also angsty and there are a few heartstopping moments here and there, but they were well-balanced with some very entertaining scenes and a thrilling storyline, plus we got to catch up with Team Alpha. I simply can't recommend this book and the whole series enough, you won't regret picking it up.

I had the chance to read some of the books in the series, but I listened to all of them, and let me tell you, Greg Boudreaux's performance is genius. Not only does he give each of the characters—and there are a lot of them, some with accents that Greg totally nails, like with Alexei or in this particular instance, Oliver and Liam and the Royal Guard team—a distinctive voice, but he puts a lot of emotion into the narration, be it the sweet, tender moments, the hotter than hot sex scenes between Jaymie and Kyle or Liam and Oliver, or the action-packed, angsty, fast-paced scenes when the team is pursuing the bad guys, he just consistently delivers and brings Hailey's words into a whole other level of brilliance. So, if given the choice between e-books and audiobooks, let me assure you that I'd pick the audiobooks every single time.

A thrilling conclusion to the series!

Ms Turner created a world full of action, superpowers and MM romance, and this book 6 Is not exception. We finally got the so-much expected and well deserved HEA between Jamie and Kyle with heartwarming, sweet vows included. Of course the book is also about Liam and Oliver and how they needed to overcome insecurities, some angst, danger and themselves to be together. I strongly recommend to read this book as part of the series to fully understand all the references, backstory, twists and turns of the plot. A must have for anyone as fan of the series as me, specially while narrated by Mr Boudreaux and his talented voice acting and charism. I loved his performance so perfect for hearing this book so much times.

A must have!
