If you love baseball, you'll love this book. And if you don't yet "get it," I'll bet you will after reading this book. It's the history of the game told through stories of the people who have made it what it is today. All the greats and the not-so-greats, the record setters and the record breakers. Stuff I'd never heard of, like "The strike that almost killed baseball" and the Deadball Era." I liked hearing all the quirky, strange traditions and superstitions, where they started, and how long they've been a part of the American baseball culture, like where the 7th inning stretch came from and why we sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game.". It hits all the bases, you could say. I don't follow baseball, but this book was a lot of fun.
