Critic reviews

"In Plain Sight, second in the DI Clare Mackay series, echoes the themes of See Them Run, Marion Todd’s debut crime novel: vivid sense of place, strong female lead, authentic police procedure." (Claire Macleary)

Full of twists, surprises, and a love story, Marion Todd's reading of her book In Plain Sight is a credit to the town of St Andrews, DI Claire Mackay and Marion Todd herself. As an avid and regular visitor to St Andrews, I loved the location scene setting and the references to the surrounding countryside.
Marion Todd and DI Claire Mackay deserve a place up there with the great Scottish crime writing masters. Would thoroughly and completely recommend.

I stumbled across Marion Todd and DI Claire Mackay by accident and I am so glad I did. This is the second book in the series and moves at a great pace. A baby, with a potentially fatal heart condition, is snatched in plain sight at a fun run attended by DI Mackay and her colleague. At first it looks like a random snatch. DI Mackay and her team are racing against the clock to find the baby. The more they dig, the more they find sinister connections to the abduction. There are also some good sub plots threaded through the main story line. A brilliant read, very well read by the author. This is becoming a firm favourite series I am reading
