Neurotic people-pleasing habits can damage you. It can hurt you physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. Because people view you as weak, you become an easy target for users and abusers. That is why it is important to learn how to say “no” from time to time.

I am loving this audiobook. It's possibly one of the most insightful and helpful books I've listened to. It's simply and clearly written, it's funny, practical, applicable and it's very very candid.

If you are a 'nice' person, if you find it difficult to be yourself, to speak up or express your truth in the world, if you bite your tongue often in relationships, and if your anxiety to be liked - and definitely not disliked - is preventing you from truly living, this book will be very illuminating.

I found this book very insightful and helpful. I used to pride myself on being nice! I found it's not the right way to be if I'm hiding the real me. This itself was an eye opener. I always believed being nice and self sacrificing was on a higher plane of being. He's very real and honest about who he is and doesn't judge, just offers insight and a safe way to explore your own mind and consider the reasons behind our actions.

Although I couldn't relate to some of the things in this book, overall it was extremely eye-opening and provides good example and tactics to stop feeling guilty every time we disagree to other people.

I wish I'd read this years ago.
