Summary

For all men and women who thirst to love and be loved by a woman, these words and stories of guidance from Clarissa Pinkola Estes are aqua vitea, the water for life and soul.

Dr. Estes teaches that in love relationships, each partner challenges, nourishes and transforms the other. To achieve this lifelong love requires an understanding of the mysterious internal cycles that fuel relationships. Through irresistable storytelling, How to Love a Woman shows how every relationship fades and expires, only to be reborn in a fresh and strengthened form.

Like water on dry land

This book - her voice - is pure medicine. I bought 'The Women Who Run With Wolves' 20 years ago, so I already know the stories she talks about, but now in a slightly different perspective. She puts words to my longing for true connection, to the openness and vulnerability that is required in true love. I lie down flat and surrender to this truth about relationship.

Beautiful

This is useful both to men and women with regards to how to love a person, even if Clarissa does focus on how to love a woman. The stories were captivating, and Clarissa's analysis was even more.

Great book

Would you consider the audio edition of How to Love a Woman to be better than the print version?

Yes I would. This allows me to read it more then once to absorb all the content while driving my car.

What did you like best about this story?

An insight to what women are really like and how they think.

What about Clarissa Pinkola Estes’s performance did you like?

I love the way she tells the stories with so much feeling.

What did you learn from How to Love a Woman that you would use in your daily life?

I learned how to be a better husband and a better man. The 12 things to look for in a mate are especially helpful. For me it is too late to choose a mate but not too late to aspire to possess the attributes in the 12 things. If we all work on being those 12 things our relationships with both women and men will go much smoother.

Any additional comments?

Carrissa Estes has a real insight as to what women want and how to have a relationship with women. I learned so much I took notes to reflect back on when I need help.
Great book with lots of great stories.

Very well read, I really loved this book. As a guy, I learned so much and it really helped validate a lot of things I felt and put things into perspective.

Must read for men and women

A beautiful short introduction to what haunts most relationships in modern life, that opens up the reader to parts of her fuller work depending on what they most identify with... cannot recommend it highly enough.

Game changer

Mind blowing, heart opening, pattern shifting. And the most powerful and compelling narrations I've come across.

Heart warming, practical and transforming

I've read this book at least four times over the years and I find new insights every time. Clarisa Pinkola Estes is one of my favorite authors and her storytelling is amazing. She has been a true teacher for me and I'm incredibly grateful for her books and stories. I've read them all.

Coveys Beautifully the Feeling Part of “How To”

A soulful, passionate and romantic listen, so knowingly read by the author’s own succulent voice. Speaks to and opens the heart to loving with just the right amount of pragmatism. Leaves open the freedom for each individual and couple to finding their unique journey while honoring the feminine spirit in the woman...and also in the partner who loves the woman.

essential reading for all

I cannot express verbally the depth within me that this book plunged to. I thank the author from the center of my being for doing the work necessary to bring this story into the world. We are all riding on the backs of our ancestors love...hear them now whisper to you in the spaces between these stories, between the authors words, in her spaces, there will you find the depth and medicine you seek. It may taste bitter, yet the most bitter medicine heals the most.
