Summary

He shot me down…. Why can’t I forget about him?

I gathered up my nerve and asked Stefan out only to be rejected. It’s been months, but I can’t stop thinking about him. I’m doing my best to get over it, but fate keeps throwing us together. First, he protects me from a disastrous date gone wrong, then he fixes my car, and he looks at me with such heat that I’m afraid I’ll burn up from the inside....

But looks mean nothing without action, and Stefan still won’t make a move. Not until a strange man comes to town asking questions about my past. I’m no one special, but Stefan’s determined to protect me. And since keeping me close involves lots of kisses, I’m not complaining.

When a family secret shakes me to my core, I’m not sure if I’ll be strong enough to move forward with Stefan…especially when he’s been keeping a fire breathing secret of his own. Can I really be the mate of a dragon? Or will the past be too much for us to overcome?

Soooo good!

Another outstanding fantasy romance by Roxie Ray; she is fast becoming my go-to author for the genre. Her Dragon Lover, the third edition of the Black Claw Dragons series, is a wonderfully written fated mate fantasy romance. The world-building is fantastically done and very imaginative. The storyline is terrific, engaging, and steamy with fabulous characters. Harley and Stefan are a perfect match, and their chemistry is off the charts.

Bitsy Hill's performance was spot on; she portrayed the characters and their connection very nicely. I genuinely enjoyed Her Dragon Lover, it was a very entertaining listen and can't wait for the rest of the series. I highly recommend this audiobook. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Book 3

This is the third book in the Black Claw series, I’m falling more in love with these characters as I get deeper into the series. Each book can be a standalone, however reading/listening to them in order gives you more of a background. I really enjoyed this young love story and getting to know the clan a little better from a perceived outsiders view. The action really picks up towards the end and the pace of the book flys by. Bitsy was the perfect narrator for this book, I can’t compliment her enough!! Looking forward to Jury’s story next.

Enjoyed

I did enjoy this audiobook but so far it was my least favorite in the series. I struggled with how much they each fought against being together, especially Stephen. I understood he had a past but I wish it didn't take so long to get to the details of it. The mystery and drama was heavier in this story than the others. I like romance to be strong in the book instead of denial. It was a good storyline but just harder to fall for the characters than the other two in the series. The narrator did an excellent job. Fabulous

This book concentrated mainly on Stefan and Harley things are not easy as Stefan is in denial about his feelings for her but his Dragon won’t give in so easy. When he finds out she’s in trouble everything changes and he realises he can’t deny she’s his fated mate and goes all out to protect her . Loved that the characters from previous books are in it and can’t wait to listen to more in the series.

Great storyline

This is a great couple that have a lovely relationship. They work well together. This shifter book was more about the people rather than the dragons per se. Bitsy gave a fantastic performance.

Great!

Over the last few days, I've been listening to the audiobooks in this series. This one is my favorite. I loved the characters- Stefan was a sweet and strong character who is honorable- a prior alpha who decided to join in with the Kingston family (he helped the family in the first book). He accepted his lot in his life and grew as a character. Harley, also, was a great character. She was strong and mature. I loved the way she handled everything thrown at her. In prior books, i have to admit that I found issues with the couple but not in this one.

The audiobook was good- Bitsy Hill was also my favorite of the narrators from these last 3 books (There were a couple of editing mistakes such as repeated lines). She did a good job with the male and female voices. I do wish there was a dual narration since this does tell the story from the POV of both Stefan and Harley. However, this was an enjoyable story and I'm happy to have had the opportunity to listen.

Not a fan.

Okay, let me start by saying this is the first book I’ve listened to or read by this author. Yes, given the title, I figured this would be more of a romance story (ie lots of sexual content), but given I’d been avoiding romance (because I find it boring the majority of the time), I decided to go ahead with this one especially since it involved dragons. On that note, I would have assumed this story/series was geared toward women, specifically straight women; that’s what most romances like this seem to be. It’s like the writer takes a basic, every-day female that female readers can relate to who meets her dream man and they fall in love and live happily ever after (hence why I said straight women). I felt like there was too much focus on Harley and what pleasure tool she was going to use and how she was going to use it and how it was going to make her feel, blah blah blah. Maybe the story was for gay women and men? Either way, I don’t care about any of that. Are the numbers high for straight women that want to read about other straight women masturbating? One can assume if she’s masturbating, she’ll be feeling fine. LOL Don’t straight women want to know more regarding the male character’s side? Maybe that’s just me. Maybe that’s just all the previous romance/sex stories I’ve read up until this book. Who knows?!

Speaking about masturbation, did anyone else question Harley’s thinking when she chose the dildo AND bullet as opposed to the vibrator because she deemed the two tools essentially easier to use, less thinking had to go into the process? I also found it questionable that Harley, an almost thirty-year-old woman, a virgin, and someone shy in the sex department, would have no problem masturbating in front of a man that she hasn’t even had sex with, up to that point in the story.

Speaking about sex, what was with the clinical description when Stefan was about to go down on Harley? Looking at the reviews, of course, I’m the only one that seems to have questioned the sexual side of this story. I mean Stefan wasn’t a doctor yet when he’s checking Harley’s lady bites out, there’s mention of vagina, vulva, lips, hood, clitoris, vaginal walls, etc. (Yes, I took notes.) Get what I mean though? It just seemed weird to me. When it comes to words that make me cringe, “moist” isn’t one of them, but “pussy” is. Maybe cringe isn’t the right word, I just can’t stand “pussy!” I would like to create a survey to find out how many women have positive emotions when a significant other uses that word toward them.

Overall, I wasn’t missing anything had I not listened to this story. It just did nothing, in my opinion. I felt the majority was slow going and boring; nothing was happening, then it’s just sex. I know lots of people are all for the sex scenes, but they come across as being the same to me. Like the authors just use the same descriptions, for example, a female will say she thinks the male is too big for her, or the male comments how tight the female is, etc. It’s all repetitive and boring.

I’m probably a small percentage here, but I wasn’t a fan of the fact the narrator seemed to talk slower during intimate times. “Stefan pulls back Harley’s hood revealing her clitoris.” LOL, no thanks. I think she did a pretty good job overall when it came to her character voices. There were a couple of times when the narrator repeated parts of the story. For example, when Harley and Stefan are in the sandwich shop and she says, “You’re very lucky you have your grandmother.” Then again when Harley is talking to her grandmother: “Nana, you know more than I ever give you credit for.”

Questions/Comments:

There’s a part near the beginning when Harley talks about having dinner at the watering hole with Micah. As far as I know, a watering hole is a bar. Yet, after eating, Micha suggests they go somewhere for drinks…to the local bar. I just thought that was kind of strange.

Harley goes to breakfast with Tyler and gets red flags. She previously told Tyler that she had a later shift at work. But even leaving early, because of the weirdness emanating around Tyler, she’s like just barely making it to work.

I found it funny that Harley tells Stefan she’s not a fan of public displays of affection, yet when they’re in the sandwich shop and after Stefan tells her everyone’s watching them, she’s the one to repeatedly go in for the kiss.

I didn’t make mention of when this next comment took place, but it involves Harley when she is upset and crying, yet the author has her crying “crocodile tears.” Crocodile tears mean she’s fake crying which Harley isn’t doing.

Why did Harley come across as being younger, mentally, when compared to Stefan? Was I the only one that felt that way? She seemed very immature for her age, while Stefan was the adult in the relationship. Her constantly thinking someone or something was “hot!” was annoying. I couldn’t help but think of Paris Hilton.

When Harley’s grandmother tells her about her father and their lineage, I couldn’t figure out why Harley would assume she was lying, not joking around, to her? I mean if her grandmother typically lied, that would be one thing. Yes, it was hard to believe but still.

When Harley meets and pets Eros and/or mentally talks to him, her getting turned on… yeah. I’ll just leave it at that.

Stefan tells Harley that his father claimed his mother when he was sixteen, Stefan that is. Why would his father have waited so long?

Anyway, after he tells his life story to Harley, they start making out. Harley tells him to go faster. Faster? They’re kissing.

Harley’s father calls her and tells her to come to his location but don’t let anyone follow her. Okay. So why didn’t she tell anyone what was going on? He never said anything about not telling them, just making sure she isn’t followed.

The fact that Stefan’s uncle/clan was looking for him and just so happens to find him the same time Harley connects with her father/meets her sister, with her father after Stefan’s bounty, seemed too coincidental for my liking.

Addicted

I read this book first, and I had to go back and buy the previous two just because it was so good! Molly Harper fans, you will love this book. It has a good story arc, memorable characters that are fully fledged, and fantastic flow. It is more than just a rip your clothes off I want you so badly, romance. This is an actual novel with a plot.

Dragon Shifters Action Surprises

A woman raised by her grandmother ... has an attraction for a relative newcomer in her town who rebuffs her, yet also seems drawn to her.
Likable hero and heroine..entertaining and likable secondary characters make for a story with just the right amount of suspense, romance, sex and mystery and surprises.
A narrator that draws me into the story, fits the characters and has the correct amount of timing and pacing to keep interest.
The third book in the series...but my first and I didn’t feel lost or behind in the background..I am interested in the preceding books now.
I received a free audiobook for an honest and voluntary review.

Amazing dragons.....

I have to say this was a great take on a dragon story. The writer Roxie Ray did a great job. I love to find truly unique finds like this that are totally different than the usual stories and this was one of them. I can’t wait for book 4.
The narrator Bitsy Hill did a fantastic job in getting across all the different voices and characters.

I received a copy of this book for free for my honest opinion and that’s what I gave❤️.

more fated mates

Betrayals , backstabbing. and greed, but love honor, and the good guys triumph. Lots of drama, action, and misunderstandings between Stefan and Harley lead to a hfn. The only issue I had were the detailed description of Harley's self pleasuring. TMI and fade out please. I'm not a prude, but too much detail. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.

Great Addition to the Series!

This is the third book in the Black Claw Dragons Series. Stefan and Harley’s slow burn romance is intriguing, and entertaining. Harley is such a beautiful character. Stefan is handsome, and protective. The storyline is captivating, filled with mystery, intrigue, action, and twists and turns. Bitsy Hill did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to Her Dragon Hero, the next book in the Series. #AudiobookObsession

Ok

This wasn’t the best storyline; but not the worse. Book needs narrator who can successfully read male and female characters; this narrator didn’t do a good job with male voices. Won’t listen to anyone books from this series.
