Summary

Hypermobile? Confused? Exhausted by conflicting advice?

This is the clear, practical guide you’ve been waiting for.

Hypermobility expert Alex Orfanides brings clarity to hypermobility through science-based explanations, relatable anecdotes, and specialist knowledge. She explores the issues hypermobile people are most often left grappling with, including:

• Making sense of hEDS & HSD without getting lost in the labels

• Why your symptoms are real, even when tests look “normal”

• Why standard exercise advice often fails hypermobile bodies, and what works instead

Written with warmth and real-world clinical insight, this is more than a reference book. It’s a survival guide for navigating life in a hypermobile body.

Whether you are newly diagnosed, still searching for answers, or supporting someone you love,

this book meets you where you are and reminds you that you are not alone.

Because your hypermobile body matters—and incurable does not mean untreatable.

This book changed my life. Genuinely the best book on joint hypermobility (and heds and HSD specifically) that I've come across. There are very few audibooks on hypermobility so I was SO happy to see that this was available. Alex narrates the book herself and her voice is clear, engaging, and enjoyable to listen to. The companion PDF is incredibly helpful, and i love that there are two versions (one with the graphics exactly as they appear in the book, and the other designed for accessibility). 10/10 and would recommend to anyone looking to learn more about hypermobility and hEDS and HSD specifically.

Clear, concise, and NOT BORING! So good!
