About this listen

Bury your enemies, and bury them deep.

John Milton thought he was done with Avi Bachman. The most dangerous man he's ever known has been incarcerated in Angola, the brutal Louisiana prison. Inmates rarely leave Angola. Once you go in, the only way out is in a box.

But Bachman is no ordinary prisoner. He was an assassin for the Mossad, and he has favours to call in.

Milton is in the Australian outback with an old friend and his flirtatious kid sister, looking for a summer’s peace to put his troubled mind to rest. But Bachman has other plans. He thinks that Milton killed his wife, and now he wants revenge.

From Australia to Israel, from Hong Kong to Croatia, here is the conclusion of this brutal chapter in Milton’s life. The two headhunters are on a collision course, and only one of them will walk away.

Mark Dawson is the new master of the binge-worthy thriller and more than 350,000 copies of the Milton series have been downloaded since it was first published. Don’t start this book in bed—you will lose sleep.

Gripping Storyline

I often hug a brand new book in a well loved series to myself for a few weeks, but in this case I could hardly wait.
I love the series, am infatuated with the narrator - what's more to say?
Story line - intricate, it helps if you know the entire series, don't know how someone would fare if they read this as a stand-alone thriller. But Mark Dawson cannot write fast enough for me, I have devoured all his books to date and am definitely a fan!

The humanity of the detective, coupled with occasional glimpses of his cold assassin role, always makes me want to read more, to have another part of his story, you get hooked into his world. As per usual, this was almost listened to in one setting, I did nod off once and had to spool back, but I love it and see this as the perfect way to 'waste' a lot of time - I have seen me run late for appointments because I cannot stop - this writer creates the perfect atmosphere to lose yourself in - and the narrator is perfect for Mark Dawson's creations.
Thank you both for a perfect Christmas treat!

Never disappoints!

I just adore these books! Mark, I don’t know how you do it but my goodness, you do - every single time! David Thorpe is the most spectacular narrator and, as I heard you say in an interview, he nails every single accent and character to perfection!
Thank you for these marvelous stories…. How long to the next Milton ????

EVERYTHING!
