Slow start but solid drama at end

After listening to an excellent book 1 and a very decent book 2, I initially struggled with the third book as the author's power of description was less compelling for me, little dialogue or drama. This was a shame as I had gotten to like the central characters and the dilemmas they had been facing but the book significantly improves after the first half dozen chapters.

Top-notch

Equally as good as the previous books in the story. Longworth is incredible as always.

Another month to find out more, really?

Lacks for some meaningful dialogue; perhaps some "where did it all go wrong?" philosophising between the loyalists, something that would make the protagonists - into whom we have invested over twenty-four hours - more human, and thus their murders more tragic.

full on action from start to finish, a fitting end

loved the first book horus rising. wasn't sure on this due to mixed reviews.
Toby Longworth once again excels reading, making everyone unique and memorable.
lots more action in this compared to book one but I have the same complaint as others have had. horus seems to turn into the bad guy with very little detail or explanation as to why, now these answers an be found online etc but I'd hoped the book would have had it unfold better.
even so I thoroughly enjoyed this story and will be listening to the next book in the series.

It's all coming together now

So, the first 2 books were very much getting to know the many names and characters. I recently got back in to 40k, but never the lore. It was a bit tough going at first, but now I'm hooked. Galaxy in Flames is where it starts heating up. If you roughly have an idea or the spark notes history version of the Heresy, this is where the real meat is added and there's plenty of it in the narrative sense too! A riveting storyline that moves at a good pace, nothing seems too rushed, and there are the inevitable cliff hangers, so I hope you've got some credits for book 4!

Fantastic

Great Book, narrated masterfully. As a science fiction lover I have high standards, this has met them in most areas and surpassed them in a few others.

The Music in-between parts of the book is way too

The Music in-between parts of the book is way too loud, had to take off head phones at parts of the audio book because of this.

Beautiful and heartbreaking

My only real experience with warhammer and the HH came from this trilogy so I had no idea of what was to come. Phenomenal writing with characters you actually care for and narration that brings it all to life. This as with Horus Rising and False Gods was one of my favorite audio books.

Great book, tragic end. the music is way too loud

As is with heresy some of my favorite characters didn't make it through this one, but they didn't disappoint me either. The music is far too loud at some points and I hope they don't continue this in further books.
