Take Rendesvous with Rama, add a bit of Aliens, add a bit of X-COM (Alien Invasion PC Game), add a bit of Independence Day (But not the good bits), and this is what you get. There seems to be about 90% ideas/concepts from other stories with about 10% of new ideas.

I may give Book 2 a chance, just in case this was a painful setup for something Epic (And I can refund if it's the same).

If I wasn't just passing the time in my hour a day commute and was reading this on a Kindle, I would have given up.

Agree with other reviewers that there is almost no "SCI" in this Sci-Fi story.

i think this book is really good. the narattion is unbelievable as always and deffently worth 1 creditt. good characters and just good entertainment. love it.

I first started listening to this book, thinking… I’ve heard this story before. I obviously hadn’t, but it was so well written that it felt familiar and I loved that. The story is griping from start to finish, I wish it had been longer as I was not ready for it to end. I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to scary components in a story, especially audiobooks as I’m not prepared for the scenes that arrive.. and this story definitely has some scary scenes!! I absolutely loved it tho, lots of unique aspects and amazing characters. I’m very much looking forward to the next instalment.

Tbh had trouble staying focused through this. Not sure why. Ray is an amazing narrator and the storyline is sound. Just maybe not for me.

Typical first contact story but written and performed very well. I loved the characters and their development through the series. The first book is still my favourite and left me wanting more!

Also Ray Port knocked it out of the park, as usual.
