Summary
The Signal was discovered. The doors opened. Invasion is imminent.

Enjoyed it so much
It’s not very often the second book is better than the first but this one really was. From the beginning I was hooked. The book followed the first perfectly

an ok follow on but lacking faith
I scored the narration only 3 this time not because of Ray's narration rather die to the poor editing if it. it is clear that sections had been rerecord but the volume and acoustics were noticeable different.... this became irritating.

poor sequel...
nowhere near as good as the first book and that was average...
some of the added narration done at a later date sounds like it was done on a phone booth...the first o e is only 5 mins in !!!....
I highly recommend ROBOT GENETICISTS...

Sequel that’s a predator knock off
The first book was genuinely interesting with a great plot.
A majority of this book is eerily similar to predator, all character development thrown away for a by the numbers action book

Way worse than book one
I wasn't a fan of the first novel but had already bought this one so decided to it a shot and that turned out to be a mistake. Here are a couple of the major things that annoyed me. This will contain minor spoilers.
Again and again (and again) characters don't make logically decisions, I won't go into details as that would be major spoilers but I went crazy listening to something that was very obvious and should be acted upon but instead the characters just ignore it. This happens over and over, especially with the infiltrators that could obviously be detected at least 90% of the time but never are.
They aliens are portrayed like they are suppose to be smart, they have all these crazy solutions that are easily adaptable, but once POV characters actually encounter and fight them they are completely inept to the point of setting up an ambush and rushing into melee giving up your advance and just getting shot. A person who never shot a gun professionally takes out several of these "tough" aliens without a problem, it was almost comical, how was earth having to many troubles with these? Whenever they where a scene it was never a problem.
Like the first book the story constantly interrupted in the middle of something to change POV interrupting the flow and momentum of the story. Its not a TV show but its apparently the only way the authors know to keep their suspends running.
Its very predictable and things in the story often only happens because it needs to artificially move the plot along even if it doesn't make any sense.
Atlas Donovan is sent on a mission that only he can supposedly complete but based on what actually happens it could have been solved by anyone with a map, and its never explained why it was magically only him that could do it. Except of course that's just how they want it to happen.
